About this house rental
Between the Beaches of Grootpan Bay and Kiddle Bay lies Mango Villa. Nestled into the hillside overlooking a large saltpond and Grootpan Bay, this villa borders the USVI National Park. Only a 10-minute drive from lively Coral Bay, the only sounds at Mango Villa are birdsong and crashing surf.
Mango Villa is a 3 BR/2 BA single-story private home; there are no shared facilities. It offers flat parking and easy access, and is fully equipped with everything you will need for a relaxed island holiday.
You will be a short distance from VIERS, and the popular beaches at Salt Pond and Lameshur. This is truly St. John Off The Beaten Track.
PLEASE NOTE: We strongly recommend you rent a vehicle for your stay. There is no Uber service on island. Taxis can be quite expensive and DO NOT frequent Coral Bay side of St John.
Inside, the kitchen and Great Room feature vaulted ceilings with exposed Mahogany beams and a 10ft Mahogany breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully equipped.
The Master Suite, with private bath, is separate from the rest of the house and has a queen bed plus a single bed. (When entering gate, door on your right is master suite and door on left is main house) Each of the bedrooms has a queen bed and every room has sliding doors onto the deck with a view of Grootpan Bay. The deck also has screened in section.

This Was an incredible opportunity to stay at a wonderful house. The layout is great especially y kids off other couples. The full back deck afforded an expansive view of a salt pond and Kiddel Bay. The salt pond is in the foreground and hosted at least 100 flamingos per day. Mostly in the morning, and some in the evening. It was a wonderful display. The house location is private and serene. I couldn’t think of a better place to stay in St. John.

The villa was a nice retreat. Very quiet area of the island with nice beaches around. Only thing need a suv of some sort the road to villa is a little rough.

The house is accurate as described with a lot of amenities to make your stay comfortable, including water bottles and a beach bag. It is a walking distance on gravel and down hill to 2 surprising calm and clear water beaches, Kiddle and Grootpan with healthier coral and decent snorkeling in safe neighboorhood. We also visited Salt pond, Waterlemon, Great Lameshur and Maho. Mango is about 2 miles to Coral bay where the Love city market is. Good price for drinks and island prices for others. We ate at Surf club Cantina once, one of the 2 Coral bay restaurants that still open in August. Their burgers are excellent, big thick juicy patties with small brioche buns. Their conch fritters were a joke, all wet dough with small chunk (not chunks) of conch.The kitchen is full of spices and the refrigerator door is full of condiments. Not sure if because of the season or just the location of the house (not too high up), there is no breeze, so we ended up cooked and ate in sweat and could not enjoy the desks or the living room. The house looks directly over of the pond with flamingos seen between the trees. The house could use a good spring cleanning: trim the trees in front of the desks, fix the running toilet so we did'nt have to keep check on it after used, throw away rusted broken folding chair etc... We had 2 power outtage during our 6 days stay. There was no running water and no cell phone when the power out, which was worrisome. These are the reasons for 3 stars.
