Beautiful Ocean Front 3 Bedroom Condo in Juan Dolio

We stayed in the beach-front 3 bedroom condo. The unit was comfortable and the balcony was fabulous. The kitchen appliances all worked well although the finish was stained or damaged in places. The air conditioning in the living area was loud and weak but we are told that is scheduled for replacement soon. The on-site crew keep the gardens and public area immaculate and well groomed. They seem to rent out the gazebo and pool area for parties, so that is much busier and noisier on weekends (loud loud music) but mostly this was a very peaceful place with the waves making most of the 'noise'. The town a mile away has a few shops, restaurants and bars (everything needed, really) and is walkable by beach or by road in the daylight, but we were advised not to walk it after dark. This is only a half-hour from Santo Domingo airport. We rented a car, but if we can go back, we wouldn't bother with that again. Uber is readily available. We would definitely return.

Once again, this beautiful property on the picturesque Caribbean coast has enchanted us. The physical plant is perfect for us - enough units to make for full facility equipment (pool, direct access to the adjacent beach, barbecue, etc.), but not so many that the residents fade into anonymity in the thundering herd. The staff are ever ready to help, providing friendly faces, services, and assistance where needed. The Wi-Fi in the unit is as good as can be had in the DR, which is to say great when the cable provider is not performing maintenance, which though not infrequent, is not problematic. This community is gated, and is guarded 24/7, which is the first and strongest obvious layer to the generalized sense of security we enjoyed. Juan Dolio is a sleepy little town, though it has ATM access, several small supermercados and numerous restaurants within walking distance, a nearby pharmacy in addition a not too distant urgent care clinic. Mari is the best landlady we have encountered in the several VRBO experiences we have had, and we've encountered many who're very good - she's just excellent, that's all. She has provided a lovely apartment, great amenities, plentiful linens + towels, a lot of extremely valuable information and recommendations based upon her own experience in Juan Dolio and the vicinity, very rapid communications response, and a friendly ear. Though not a requirement, it has been our pattern to have a rental car; it is worth noting that EVERYTHING YOU NEED or NEED TO BUY is either present at Residencia Abdimar, within easy walking distance, or can be accessed by a very reasonably priced and easily arranged taxi ride. We could not be happier here. My only reluctance in reporting what a wonderful stay we have had (this being our 3rd here, and we're booked for next year...) is in the fact that this might encourage competition for the time-frames in which we continue to be interested.

As anticipated, our time at Residencia Abdimar was an undiluted joy. We stayed in the same apartment as last year, and it has only improved in the interval. At the risk of attracting others to this venue (and possibly engendering competition for the time slot(s) we wish to avail ourselves of), it is only fair to say that this is far and away the best VRBO in which we have had the pleasure to stay, and we've been in a number. This place has everything we might want in the way of amenities, a very helpful and friendly staff to support us, and our landlady Maricrys, is an absolute peach! Our toughest decisions daily were - Ocean or Pool, Ocean or Pool. With restaurants, ATMs, and grocers within easy walking distance (larger grocers a shortish drive), all our needs and wants were easily met. We could not be happier with any of this rental, and look forward with anticipation to returning. Again and again...

That's how we felt everyday at Maricrys apartment in Paradise , blessed and thanked God for the privilege we had of enjoying such beauty. Thank you Maricrys for checking in with us regularly to make sure all was to our liking which it was and then some. The previous vacationer said it all in their review which I wholeheartedly agree with. What a beautiful location, comfortable apartment with all the necessities, safe and secure. We are only back a week and already missing our morning coffee on the balcony which was our favourite place during our month's stay .Thank you so much Maricrys for allowing us to be guests at your home in Paradise and God willing we would love to come back.
