About this cabin rental
This cabin is just outside the Lexington Town limits and 5 minutes from the Lake Murray Dam, less than a mile from Hwy. 6. There is a driving range directly across from the entrance to our driveway. The Regal Pastime Pavilion 8 movie theater is 5 minutes away; the Riverbanks Zoo & Botanical Gardens are 20 minutes away and there are plenty of other fun things to do beyond playing on Lake Murray! Also, the cabin is about 15 miles from the USC campus in downtown Columbia and 16 miles to the Williams-Brice Football Stadium.
The house is simply furnished, but very comfortable with lots of sleeping space. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other bedroom has a twin and full size bed. In the large great room there is a a trundle bed with 2 twin mattresses, which is great for kids. The bathroom is large with a shower/tub enclosure. There is a stacked washer & dryer. The dining room area has a large table that easily seats 8 people. A large counter in the kitchen area has 6 stools for even more seating space. There is a wood burning fireplace in the great room for those cool nights in the fall, winter & early spring.
Unfortunately, the Lexington County Council is mandating that we can only allow 2 people per bedroom to stay at our lakehouse, even though it was built to hold up to 7 guests. This will cause us to have less rentals. Rentals are needed to pay the exhorbitant property taxes leveled on us by Lexington County Council. Since we won’t make enough to pay the property taxes, eventually this will result in us having to sell our precious family cabin to someone else, who will most likely use it as a primary dwelling. This will result in the county only receiving about 1/3 the amount of property taxes that we currently pay. Good job Lexington County Council! Taxing people off our properties has long been a rallying cry to GET RID OF CURRENT ELECTED OFFICIALS AND REVISE THE TAX LAWS! Why don’t you all just go ahead and shoot yourselves in the foot!
