About this cottage rental

Kayadon 2 is a well-equipped 2 bedroom, 2 bath unique beach property utilizing an open concept design. Gliding barn doors separate the bedrooms from the living area providing privacy while maintaining an open feel. The front bedroom has a private bath that opens to an outdoor shower for rinsing off after a day at the beach or simply open the shower door to the outside and experience a shower under the stars! The back bedroom also has a bath entrance but is shared for common use. The living room and kitchen are a great room with an open concept. All furnishings are new with plenty of seating. Kayadon 2 sleeps 4 in beds. The couch is large enough to sleep a 5th person, however it would be cozy. The outside front porch is ideal for people watching and enjoying the weather. There is a side gathering area for relaxing. Parking in the driveway for 1 car and ample street parking.

This wonderful cottage was the perfect place for our family’s beach getaway. Very clean and close to the beach. A short walk to have our toes in the sand. This little bungalow was perfect for two people. The location is walkable to many restaurants, the beach, coffee shops, groceries, the seals. It is also well situated for driving and sightseeing both North along the coast and south into San Diego. Definitely worth a return visit.

Loved our time spent at Kayadon! This is the second time we have stayed at this adorable property. It is the perfect beach cottage in La Jolla. Love the location for walking to the beach, restaurants and shops. The owner and property management are easy to communicate with. The owner thought of everything one could need for a lovely getaway. And to put the cherry on top they allow dogs!!! Perfection!

This cottage is nothing short of magical: a brief walk to the beach where you can watch surfers or toss a ball for your dog; access to a fun and lively downtown; a short drive to the cove, with its beauty and active sea lion population; and the calm serenity of a beach night after any San Diego city excursions you may make. This was our hope when we booked this cottage, and it did not disappoint. What exceeded our expectations was the well-appointed nature of every room. We did not lack for kitchen utensils or supplies, soaps and plenty of towels were provided, and the place smelled and felt clean. Thank you, Terri (and Michael), for sharing your cottage with us! We would rent this again in a heartbeat.

Beautifully decorated cozy cottage between La Jolla (.77 of a mile) and Bird Rock neighborhood (2 miles) and beautiful beach 1 1/2 blocks. Neat, clean and had a beach/surf vibe. Quaint neighborhood that is quiet and safe. Watch sunset through family room window, relax at fire pit, cook a gourmet meal in open kitchen, or grab a morning coffee for a predawn walk to beach. Great for no more than 4 adults or 2 adults with 2 children, bathrooms are self contained with water closet/shower combo that is unique. Fans and sound machines make for great sleep assistants. Cottage is one house in from main La Jolla Blvd but road noise was at a minimum. Easy to walk to down town La Jolla shopping or rent a golf cart and store in 2 car garage. Manager was attentive to our needs even when we had a plumbing issue. Definately would return for extended stay.

Firstly, the cottage is immaculate, well appointed, and decorated perfectly!!! The location was ideal for our needs. We have stayed at numerous properties in La Jolla that are dog friendly and this one was by far the best❤️. This unit was the icing on the cake for a relaxing family reunion and Thanksgiving weekend. We enjoyed staying here SO much. The cottage was perfect for our needs! It was magical walking a few minutes to catch a glorious sunset at the beach. We could walk to restaurants and a grocery market. The neighborhood is gorgeous! The cottage had everything we needed and was spacious for two couples. We enjoyed the outdoor space. Michael and Terri are great hosts and we would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to friends. It was the perfect La Jolla stay. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Me, my husband and 2 grandkids were very comfortable at the La Jolla Beach Cottage. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen was great. We loved the outdoor shower, bottle of wine and the decor of the cottage. We walked to the beach several times and appreciated the use of the sand toys and sun umbrella.

My family had a wonderful time here. The place was clean, comfortable and was in the perfect location to take a short walk to the local beach, or a short drive to any of the other great beaches in La Jolla. I really appreciated the extra amenities, having beach towels, bikes, a boogie board, and beach chairs, which made our beach days that much more fun. I highly recommend this place and would definitely look for it again, if we were to return to La Jolla.

The house is so clean and very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and within walking distance to the best beach in La Jolla. We felt very safe and enjoyed watching Netflix and relaxing at the house when we weren't exploring the area or at the beach. Easy commute to shopping and restaurants. We brought my daughter's dog and tried out SUP PUPS (stand up paddle boarding near Liberty Station) so fun! HIghly reccommend this home and area.
