About this house rental

Welcome to The Easy Plateau — Your Waterfront Cottage on Taylor Creek

Step onto the front porch and let the creek do the rest. Taylor Creek rolls by just beyond your railing, carrying with it a steady parade of sailboats, kayakers, wild horses on the opposite shore, and the occasional pirate — this is Beaufort, after all.

The Cottage Easy Plateau is a well-loved, meticulously kept waterfront home that sleeps up to 7 comfortably. Four bedrooms — a King, a King, a Queen, and a double bed in the Hemingway Room— are outfitted with fresh linens provided at no extra charge. Bath towels and washcloths are included as well. Three of the bedrooms have a TV with Roku, the kitchen has been updated with all-new appliances, and high-speed WiFi keeps you connected.

There are two full baths, the second of which features a private outdoor shower — accessible directly from the bathroom and perfectly placed for rinsing off after a day on the water.

The Hemingway Room - Off the living room you'll find our favorite space in the house — a sun-drenched bonus room we call the Hemingway Room. The décor is inspired by Hemingway's beloved boat, Pilar, and the room has a comfortable double bed. There is not a tv in the Hemingway room.

The Dock - We've just added a massive new floating dock with room for two boats, a dedicated floating kayak dock, a fold-down swim ladder, a fish cleaning station, and bench seating on the pier. Whether you're arriving by sea or just dangling your feet over the edge at sunset, the dock delivers.

The Location - You're half a mile from downtown Beaufort's waterfront boardwalk, where restaurants, bars, boutiques, and live music fill the evenings almost nightly. World-class beaches, the ICW, the North Carolina Aquarium, charter fishing, and diving are all a short drive away.

A Word About History - Beaufort has been voted America's Coolest Small Town and its top yachting destination. Cape Lookout National Seashore, minutes away, was recently named the country's best National Park. And then there's the neighborhood history: Blackbeard himself was a regular in these parts. The home he visited — belonging to his girlfriend, so some people say— sits diagonally behind Easy Plateau, and there's little doubt the famous pirate walked right across this property on his way there. His flagship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, ran aground off Beaufort's coast in 1718, and the NC Maritime Museum just up the road displays artifacts recovered from the wreck.

A Neighborly Note - While Beaufort has grown into a wonderful destination, it remains a close-knit, quiet community — particularly after dark. We ask that all guests be respectful of the neighbors and the neighborhood's peaceful character.

We can't wait to welcome you to The Easy Plateau. We think you're going to love it here.

Excellent, as always! We’re repeat renters (six years now?!) and Amy’s home is so welcoming, clean, and always relaxing. We love the location and dock - and appreciate the house is also well-stocked for any necessities or nice-to-haves. Amy is an excellent host and communicator, too! We especially enjoyed the kids’ games this year. Our family is already looking to rebook next summer!

The layout of the house was good, front porch was great for relaxing and looking at the water. Dock access was easy for our boat. The owner checked with me several times just to make sure all was ok and to let me know what we needed in case we lost power during the potential storm.
