Walk-A-Bout is a charming 2-bedroom, 1-bath getaway that comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests. Relax in the cozy living room featuring a beautiful fireplace (firewood provided seasonally), plush seating, a flat-screen satellite TV, and complimentary WiFi. The second bedroom also includes its own flat-screen satellite TV for added comfort and convenience.
This home is packed with thoughtful upgrades, including a tankless water heater so you'll never run out of hot water, central A/C, a Bluetooth speaker system, dishwasher, and a new garbage disposal to make your stay effortless.
Step outside onto the private deck and enjoy outdoor dining with the gas BBQ grill — the perfect spot to unwind after a day of adventure.

About the Area
Nestled just 4 miles inside the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park is the charming and historic town of Wawona. Located at the base of Chilnualna Falls (the second-highest vertical-drop waterfall in Yosemite), and home to the principal trailheads into the southern Yosemite wilderness, Wawona is also the closest town to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.
Wawona has the feel of a small town but is bustling with activity! Over 160 residents, including Yosemite Park employees, live in Wawona and can be seen gathering at the town's community center, playing a pickup game of basketball at the elementary school, jogging on one of the many picturesque trails, or simply walking their dogs and baby strollers through the winding residential streets. The historic Wawona Swinging Bridge boasts the best natural water slide in the Park! The history village is filled with docents, stagecoach rides, horseback rides, and barn dances in the summer season, and the Wawona Meadow Loop offers year-round riparian meadow wildlife viewing.
Wawona was known to the local Native American Miwok in their language as Pallachun (a good place to stay). It is entirely within Yosemite National Park (it preceded the park's founding as a national recreation area) and is on the South Fork of the wild and scenic Merced River, along the main highway (State Route 41) from Fresno to Yosemite Valley.
Galen Clark, who helped gain preservation legislation for Mariposa Grove and what later became part of Yosemite National Park, occupied the Wawona area in 1855 and established a tourist rest and modest ranch, which he later sold and made into a hotel and resort property (the Wawona Hotel). The Wawona post office was established in 1878 and was originally called Clark's Station.
The Redwoods in Yosemite has over 120 vacation rental homes and is proud to say that all of them are located in Wawona. All are within walking distance of everything that Wawona has to offer, and every one of them is surrounded by the majesty of Yosemite National Park!

Property is a bit dated but nice and clean. The bathroom is a bit small. Because they use Dish TV, the reception is spotty especially with ESPN.

We enjoyed our stay and the cabin. The listing says it sleeps 6 but that might be a bit cozy for sleeping. There were 4 of us and we were quite comfortable.

I didn’t receive anything pre check in for the cabin so I didn’t realize that everything was at the office… wasn’t awful but would have been good to get an email before checking in.We loved wowona, but the shop was very depleted by the time we checked in, I’d recommend bringing in groceries. There was mouse poo in the pots and pans in the kitchen . Otherwise we loved the space!

Rooms were nice and clean beds super comfortable kitchen was fully stocked. It was a very cozy stay. I would definitely rent again. Very easy to check. Can’t wait for my next stay
