Sleep alongside the tree tops at Sparrow Cottage, a charming arts and crafts style 2 bedroom cottage that overlooks the mountains within the picturesque, upscale Village of Cheshire. This home is only a short 15-minute drive away from Asheville and mere minutes away from downtown Black Mountain. It is also within walking distance of the YMCA (pool, tennis, and fitness center) and the Village of Cheshire town center. Here you will find several dining options including Beradu, a new restaurant, bar, and specialty market, or Sake Sushi, which boasts high-quality Japanese cuisine.
The interior of Sparrow Cottage was recently fully updated, including the addition of a spacious downstairs bedroom and bathroom (complete with walk-in shower) connected by interior stairs. Sparrow Cottage also has hardwood floors and fresh paint throughout. This 3-level home has 2 bedrooms, each with a luxurious king-sized bed and a full bathroom. The downstairs bedroom also features a new Roku-based LCD smart TV, a brand-new sofa, a sitting chair, and a coffee table. Up the stairs, you'll find similar new features alongside a full bath with a spacious shower and laundry area with a washer and dryer. The upstairs bedroom does not have a TV but features a deck for viewing High Windy Mountain while sipping on your beverage of choice!
The main level has a new LCD Smart TV with a new soundbar, new furniture, a new refrigerator, microwave, Nespresso, cooking utensils, and dishes. The living room features a gas-log fireplace and a new kitchen table and chairs. Step out on the deck and relax under the stars. Use the new Weber grill year-round to grill fresh foods for an enjoyable feast. Gather around the outdoor fire pit to stay warm on those chilly nights. Fresh linens and towels are provided for your convenience, and a mini-split A/C system was installed upstairs to enhance your overall comfort.
Please Note: Due to the owners' severe allergies, no pets are allowed. This home has 2 exterior cameras (one on the main level front porch and the other on the lower level entry area). The fire pit and chairs are stored beneath the deck when not in use to make room for overflow parking.

We and another couple shared this house for a 4-day getaway in early October. It met our needs perfectly. We were so grateful to find a house with 2 extremely comfortable king beds, separate bathrooms, and a kitchen that allowed us to cook and eat in. We used the gas grill on several occasions. Stairs to up and downstairs sleeping spaces were a bit steep, but we managed. As others have said, the driveway was also a little crazy. Decor was tasteful, modern, and neutral, much appreciated. Watch out for the bear that greeted us outside the front door when we returned one afternoon! Black Mountain is a wonderful reprieve from hectic Asheville!
