Ocean-front Cottage With Magnificent Whitewater Views

It was just my wife, daughter and granddaughter. Great view and nice property. TV didn’t work which was kind of an issue with a 3 year old. But not too big of a deal as the view and company was great.Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We had a lovely four days at Heartsong with each day sunny and in the early 70's. The place is very comfy and homey and the view from the little deck by the ocean is amazing. We really appreciated the baby highchair as we forgot ours. Also, the stove was amazing. We visited the general store a few times for stuff we forgot and the couple who own it are great and we walked to the Old Abalone Pub and shared an array of desserts (highly recommend the banana split). The house was well appointed and this seems like a petty request, but having some plastic food containers for storage would have been great, but I understand if you don't because people probably take them home, lol. We just brought a lot of food and had to get creative on how to store in the fridge.

Everything was great. No hot water first day. Low propane for bbq first day. All was repaired/replaced 2nd day. Wonderful visit…just wish it could’ve been longer.

This property is beautiful. Fell in love with the view in the pictures and it was just as spectacular in person. There is basically a private beach about a 5 minute walk and down some stairs. We spent time in the hot tub every afternoon and evening watching and listening to the ocean. It’s a 30 minute drive into Ft Bragg for amenities like restaurants but there is a little store for necessities. Our family used it as a base for driving further north to hike in the Redwoods as well as for exploring the beaches around Ft. Bragg. Would stay again.

Very cozy

We enjoyed our stay in this dog-friendly rental! The house was well equipped with everything you could need and the views were incredible. We enjoyed the hot tub and the deck overlooking the ocean. The nearby stairs down to the beach were closed for repairs but two other beaches were a quick drive away. There is a small grocery store within walking distance that was helpful for picking up some items we forgot.

This house is in the perfect location right on the cliff where you can watch the ocean day and night. A short walk to stairs going down to the beach. A perfect getaway to sit, relax and have ocean views the entire time.

I was impressed with the home. It was everything we wanted and more. The host was responsive and the place was very clean. We enjoyed the hot tub and magnificent views. I couldn't have rented a better place to propose. It was very wet and rainy during our stay, but that didn't bother us one bit. They have a compost bin that we weren't used to, but we made it work! We even took our trash with us to not fill up the bin and leave anything smelly. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to stay here and we will be returning.

This is a stunning property. The location could not be better. The upstairs (kitchen and living room) are outstanding. The downstairs bedrooms however leave a lot to be desired. The property has a completely closed in front porch, and the second “bedroom” has been placed on the left side of this room behind an armoire. So you walk in from the outside and see the back of the armoire, and the bedroom is then open to that room. On the plus side, the heating for this room is adequate and the bed is comfortable. On the down side (besides the lack of privacy) the tile floor is freezing and there is no carpet and the bathroom is up a set of steep stairs. There should be more separation from the entry, and definitely a rug. The main bedroom, through a second “front door”, is a weird room. On the one hand, there is a spectacular view and it’s quite large with an en-suite bathroom. On the other hand, the bed (comfortable) is pushed all the way over to the far left and the center of the room is just empty. There is a dresser and another peice of furniture sectioning off a separate third of the room on the right with an additional twin bed and a desk. There is also a tile floor which is freezing and no rug. My other critique is that the owners make demands for leaving the house which include: stripping the sheets, putting all the towels in the washing machine and starting it, putting all dishes in the dishwasher and all garbage in the outside cans. It’s a bit much, but it’s gorgeous

The long and winding road that leads to your door will never disappear (with apologies to Lennon & McCartney)...from our memories as we gathered for a family wedding a short walk away. The long flight from JFK to SFO, then the winding — really winding — roads to Westport were a bit arduous and harrowing, but once we settled into Heart Song, the comforts and the views (oh, those views!) will never disappear. Not sure if those memories will lead us to your door again, but they will surely linger. Thanks for everything!

Lovely place on the ocean! Nicely appointed too!

Place was as advertised and view from the home is spectacular. There is limited cell service and WiFi only works inside house, so it’s not the best destination if you want to be connected. We were looking to unplug and the poor connectivity was a bonus for us.

Cozy yet spacious cottage with spectacular ocean views. Backyard platform deck for sunset viewing each evening. Simply wonderful! Simply charming! We would book again.

Heartsong is truly a special slice of heaven on earth. It has just the right blend of attributes that my wife and I look for - remote, serene and tranquil. We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to stay here.

The view was breathtaking. The cottage is very dated and not very comfortable. It is not really a two bedroom. The beds are on the basement level and there is one bedroom door but the front bed has no door. There are lights missing from the ceiling and the WiFi is almost nonexistent. Was unable to communicate via the VRBO app as the signal could not process the request

What an amazing stay at Heart Song!! The house was great with spectacular views of the ocean. Sit on the deck at the cliff or stay on the balcony all day, your views are well worth it. Highly recommended, and we can’t wait for our next stay.

The home and setting was beautiful! There is a small store close by that has subs, pizzas and essentials. Beach access a short walk and down some steps. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen and living space. Perfect vacation spot for these sisters from Michigan! Ashley was great to work with. Highly recommend.

Our stay at Heart Song was was truly wonderful. Our family was in town for my step-daughter's wedding. We spent 5 nights and were very sad to leave. The house was stocked with everything we needed and we never tired of the views. We would stay again in a hearbeat if we're ever in the area again.

The view is incredible. Great location. Loved hearing the sound of the waves no matter where you are at in the house. 180 degree view. The living quarters were very comfortable.

Beautiful scenery and Home. The House was perfect. The view Amazing !!. WE were able to see whales at a far distance , couldn't have asked for better memories!

The home is just as described. Very spacious and warm. The views are amazing! We enjoyed hanging out on the deck and balcony. The kitchen is very well equipped. Being able to walk to the beach is an added bonus. The drive to Fort Bragg and Mendocino is a little curvy but worth it. Thank you for a lovely time.

Looks exactly like the photos, sunsets and stars were amazing, but not every night. Always beautiful though. Comfy, well supplied home. 25 minutes to Ft Bragg, 45 to Mendocino and no great (mile or more) walking from the house.

Extraordinary, soulful and wondrous. We love and respect this home highly. My wife and I have stayed up and down the Mendo coast for 25 years and feel a connection to it much like we do the mountains where we live in Truckee, CA. We very much appreciate being able to seek the tranquility that is bestowed upon the Westport Headlands and feel quite fortunate to visit here. It’s heaven on Earth!
