Villa Knez

Amazing host and amazing house. We booked all of the apartments on the second floor so the whole floor was like our own, really recommend. We spoke to the hosts earlier regarding lunch upon arrival, and they made an amazing grilled buffet for us with a mix of fish and meat. Very clean apartment and pool area. He even drove my grandmother to the beach because she was old and he didn't want her to walk in the heat.

The only con: many, many stairs up to the villa. It will be an issue if someone is old or mobility impaired, or perhaps if you have lots of heavy bags. For the younger family members this is no problem, but for my grandmother it was a bit difficult. Of course it's natural in the "mountainy" habitat of Okrug Gornji - but just something that should be taken in consideration when booking.

Nice and quiet location with AC. Room is equipped with basic equipment/cooking utensils (slightly annoying that there was no kettle) but don't expect any luxury.

Check in was awkward. No one seemed to be around when I got there and I had to call the property, it doesn't help that the owner doesn't speak English. However the real problem is that my room absolutely reeked of air freshener so strong that I couldn't breathe, luckily the room next door was free so I could sleep there the first night of my stay while my room was being aerated overnight. I appreciated the quick reaction from the owner but had the room next door been occupied I would have had to find another place. After 15 years in the business they should know better.
