About this cabin rental
140' feet of private beach, fire pit, fireplace, internet, sat TV, wooded lot - Harrisville is a great little town. There is a coffee shop, restaurants, consignment shop, bar, library, thrift shops, general dollar store, hardware stores, gas stations fishing, golf all near by. The beach has a great fire pit for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs over the fire!
The City of Harrisville, Michigan is on the western shore of Lake Huron and has a harbor for recreational boaters. The harbor is a center for salmon and trout fishing. It is also a designated 'Harbor of Refuge' on Lake Huron by the US Coast Guard. The Lake Huron beaches in and around Harrisville (including two state parks) have been recognized as being among the 'top ten in Michigan.' 'Old-fashioned lake vacations abound on this pretty stretch of Lake Huron.'
Harrisville, Michigan is on the edge of Huron National Forest, which offers outdoor recreational opportunities such as hunting, swimming, cross-country skiing and trout fishing. The forest contains 330 miles (530 km) of hiking trails. The Huron and Manistee National Forests were separately designated, but were combined in 1945 for administrative purposes.
Sturgeon Point Light Station, a lighthouse and museum is just a few miles to the north, and is open to the public. The town also boasts Harrisville State Park, which includes a wooded campground right along the beach.

We had a great time! Cabin was spotless and exactly as pictured, and the surrounding houses were empty for most of our week. The king bed upstairs is one of the best beds I've ever slept on. We're looking forward to coming back next year!

Such a lovely and relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle. So enjoyed being right on the lake with our own HUGE beach. There's hardly a reason to leave, since you have everything right there, including kayaks!!! It was hard to go without internet service for so long (since we were there for two weeks), but that added to the feeling of truly getting away. The remoteness unfortunately also means that cell service is spotty or nonexistent, but again, that's just part of the charm :)
