Ocean Front Complex - Condo Has Balcony With Lagoon View - Free WiFi - 3 Pools

One room was not as advertised. The listings details did not state that there was a shared laundry room for each floor that cost extra to use. This info would have been helpful to know. Overall, we enjoyed the facilities. The beach is a short 10 minute walk down a nice boardwalk. We liked the indoor pool area and workout space.

The complex is old but the grounds and the buildings, gardens and pools seem to be well maintained. The unit was nice, comfortable, and fit the description in the post. I only wish we had a washer and dryer in the unit. There is a communal laundry room on the floor but it was rather pricey. I did not use the laundry room. Since we only stayed 4 nights, it was not a huge inconvenience. I would stay at the same place, same unit again.

Super clean and centrally located to restaurants, shopping and coastal areas. Nice boardwalk to the beach. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Hilton Head Resort, although very well-located on the island, is clearly a lower end vacation property with all that such entails. The description and amenities were indeed accurate (and read carefully as there are no real beach paraphernalia or laundry in the unit) but this particular condo is truly “rental worn”. Good: - Effective air (cooling) and ceiling fans - Kitchen pretty well stocked (plates, cups, coffee pot, pans, blender, toaster, utensils) and has a newer frig w auto ice maker - Large tv w cable in living room (older tvs in bedrooms - never tried to turn them on so no idea on picture/quality/service) - Shower water pressure and hot water in both baths - Updated bathrooms Negative: - as reported in many reviews - omnipresent and disturbing mildew smell (with corollary rust on appliances and bathroom light fixtures). I’m guessing it’s emanating from the HVAC system. - both bedroom closet doors off track and don’t close at all - dirty brown carpet in second bedroom - ceiling fans were filthy - second bedroom very loud squeaking bunk bed both top and bottom - master bath tub/shower - liner only (no curtain) w obvious mildew stains - broken handle on door to screened terrace - low end furniture throughout that has chipping paint, stains, etc. - oven and dishwasher older and “quirky” Complex: - The workers we encountered were all affable and accommodating. - The proximity to the beautiful “private” beach with shuttle service was amazing (and the availability of umbrella and chair rental there was, although pricey - appreciated) - Coco’s bar/restaurant at the beach was convenient as were the restrooms there. - The large outdoor pool was clean and had adequate lounges and seating (weekdays at least), a small restaurant/grill, a bar and a t-shirt shop - The indoor pool area was dirty and musky and the few cardio machines were not in good shape - Multiple laundry rooms and one conveniently nearby (very clean) unit accepting credit cards and housing a couple of commercial washers and four dryers - Shelter Cove shopping/marina/restaurants/trails are within walking distance and are a great destination Vacation rental pricing has certainly increased and this one was at the lower end of those we’d considered. I guess we got what we paid for.
