The Broadway Palms, built in 1914, is conveniently located on the corner of 17th and Broadway (unlimited parking), in Galveston's famed Historical District. It sleeps 16 in beds and another 3-4 on an extra throwdown twin mattress, a Queen air mattress, couches, etc. It has easy access to the Strand (4 min drive), beach (4 minute drive or 8 minute walk), restaurants, Pleasure Pier, fishing and any Galveston Festival/gathering you are attending with your family and friends! There's plenty of room for everyone! And, best of all...we have the BEST Man Cave on the Island that is kid and teen friendly!

This 1914 historic home is nicely situated on a corner lot, is 3600 square feet with the Cave, has 2 stories of living space, large rooms, high ceilings, and century old, original hardwood floors. The house has been completely remodeled/restored to provide modern conveniences while keeping the history alive!

The 1st floor is an air conditioned/heated, above ground, brick basement converted into the BEST Man Cave on the Island! There's plenty to do on the Island, but while at the house you will also have tons of fun in "Captain Mike's Pirate's Cave"! Ready to step into a 1300 square foot Pirate Cave ??? We have Pirate decor galore, a Foosball table, a table for Craps and BlackJack, Darts, Poker table, Ping Pong table, DVD, Dish Network, Smart TV, dominoes, chess, and kid friendly videos and games! Recently added is Captain Mike's Grog Room which has a Pool Table, a cedar plank ceiling, and the largest Pirate flag in the State of Texas!!! Going to the beach? Great! In the Grog Room/garage I've got a portable table with 4 seats, bocce ball, croquet, horseshoes, corn hole, beach toys, water skimmers and more!

There's also a 700 watt, Bluetooth stereo in the Cave to play your favorite music! Ready to dance the night away? No problem! Turn off the ceiling lights and enjoy the LED rope lighting, the Disco/Lazer Lighting, the Black Light decor, and the Black Lights! There's also 3 beer pong tables and a bunch of Pirate Photo props where you can dress up like Captain Jack Sparrow and others!

The back yard has recently been converted into Mrs. Captain Mike's Flamingo Lounge! Let's go PINK !! We did !! Flamingos everywhere! And, for the back yard cookouts we have a kitchen with a sink, refrigerator, 10' of buffet space, and 4 cooking options! We have a large propane gas grill, a large fire pit/grill (holds 30+ burgers), a brick oven/grill, and a large smoker with side fire box. The backyard is fully fenced. There's also seating for 20+/- in the back yard! We also have two, outdoor, cold wash/rinse stations. It is THE MOST COMPLETE Man Cave/Back Yard/Garage combination on the Island! Some groups come and never leave the house! There are also 4 bikes (bring your own helmets) you can use to stroll the Seawall or the Historical District!!

The 2nd floor is the main living floor. As you pass through the vestibule (mud/coat room) and into the foyer, you see pocket doors leading into the huge, open living room. We have a cabinet full of games in the living room along with several puzzles. Adjacent to the living room is a cozy, antique/nautical decorated Sun Room where you can almost hear the sounds of the beach which is just 8 short blocks away. The Sun Room has a Day Bed, a Twin Bed underneath, black out curtains over the windows, and black out curtains which separate it from the main Living Room. We call it a "5th bedroom". The main Dining Room has a formal dining table which seats 8, a Grandfather Clock, and furniture pieces from yesteryear. Next to the Dining Room is the Breakfast Room with seating for 4, and huge Kitchen which also has seating for 4. The updated kitchen offers an abundance of counter space, and is fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, small appliances, and all the dinner and cookware you’ll need to prepare that special meal. There is a washer/dryer room and a half bath located off the kitchen in the back.

As you travel up the century old, wood staircase to the 3rd floor, you’ll find 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The first bedroom, the 'Nursery', to the right, sleeps 2 with a queen sized bed and is adjacent to the Master Bedroom. There is a door connecting these two bedrooms, hence the name 'Nursery' (so that mom, back in 1914, could quickly get to her crying baby). It has locks on both sides for privacy. The Master Bedroom, 'Palm Room', sleeps 4 comfortably with a king sized bed and a set of twin bunk beds, and offers a private, full bath. The 3rd bedroom, the 'Beach Room', sleeps 4 more with 2 queen sized beds. And lastly, the “Texas Bunk Room” sleeps 4 with a set of twin bunk beds and a full sized bed. The 2nd full bathroom is conveniently situated in the hall and just a few steps away from all of the bedrooms.

There are 5 Smart TV's in the house and WIFI is available throughout the house. There is also a Blue Ray DVD for those late night, popcorn movies, and Dish Network. There are no parking restrictions on either Broadway or on 17th street. There are 40 windows throughout the house so open the blinds and enjoy the natural lighting ! You will not be disappointed in the space, convenience, or the relaxed atmosphere of this home....truly historic and truly amazing!

Captain Mike's place is too much fun. Our group of 14 had a wonderful time. We had plenty of space, in fact half the time we couldn't find one another in the house. The weather was a little funky but no-one even noticed, there was plenty to keep us entertained in the house. Location very convenient.Great communication with Captain Mike - he made sure everything went smooth and provided many suggestions to compliment our stay. Would love to go back.

Love the corner house which made easy for parking and plenty of parking space. Overall we loved the spacious home and we actually spent most of our stay in the man cave. Loved how there's a fridge and sink downstairs especially since I'm a big griller. My only wish is for a restroom downstairs. But we all loved our stay a lot of room in the backyard with plenty of shade.

Even during a storm there was plenty to do in the pirates cave. One of the best places we have stayed in lately. The house was great and very close to the activities we had planned for the weekend. Thanks for sharing your home with us

When you walk in and can't even speak because you are speechless, I think that was the first sign we made the right choice. Big house, spacious rooms, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen supplies... AND THE PIRATE'S CAVE!!!!! Absolutely perfect for a group of us guys just trying to have some fun throughout the week. All the fans definitely help keep it cool. We set up a small, not so loud, DJ table which helped keep a fun house vibe. There was a fridge and sink downstairs too which was super convenient. Everything was absolutely perfect. We even had a Poker night with the Poker Table and chips. We had about 10 adults stay the night and we all fit comfortably.

We stayed here for family reunion. This house is fabulous! We enjoyed our family being all together. We hosted our extended family for a shrimp boil. Captain Mike is wonderful to work with. We plan to be back next year.
