It is next to Ambleside Pier where you can hop on one of the steamers or take a leisurely cruise across the lake. Popular Ambleside centre is an easy 15 - 20 minute walk. Here you can browse the gift shops, purchase local walking guides or sample some Lakeland produce at one of the cafes, pubs or restaurants. There are also lots of footpaths leading from the town towards Loughrigg, Wansfell and Troutbeck Bridge. Windermere is an easy 10 minute drive whilst Grasmere and Keswick to the north offer plentiful fell walks to discover. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 10 yards.
