David and Linda were a lovely couple who gave us a warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went the extra mile for their guests. There is so much to see on the farm: horses, sheep, chickens, Guinea fowl, turkeys, and an aviary with budgies, canaries and quail. For rainy days David rigged up a barn so that guests could play badminton, table tennis, pool and table football. The day before we left, he completed his mini-golf course. We went for lovely walks in the 40 acres of woodland admiring the views of Arran and Ailsa Craig. David even set up a bench and table for us there so we could sit there at our leisure. We needed a quiet and peaceful break and this gave us what we needed. Our dog, Snowy, was made really welcome and had a good old fuss made of her. For others, you are in the heart of the countryside but only 20/30 minutes from the buzz of Glasgow or the Clyde Coast. Highly, highly recommend the Old Barn Farm. Nothing is to far away with the beautiful beach’s of Irvine and Troon only 30 mins away and Loch Lomond and hour. The host David was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. This was the second time I had stopped here. It was perfect for me & my elderly dog. The views are spectacular & people are extremely helpful. It is a working farm so you have to keep that in mind but I would definitely recommend the venue.

Old barn farm cottage is set on a working farm, the views were to die for and the peace and quiet was so tranquil. David the owner , Linda his partner and Hazel his daughter were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The water supply to the cottage is from a natural spring and tasted so good as well as being really cold. It snowed while we were there which made the views even better if that is possible. Cottage was lovely just what you would expect from a farm cottage, clean, free WiFi, a good night's sleep with a duck feathered duvet . It was really cold outside but it was lovely and warm in the cottage due to the radiators being on 24/7 . There was even a calf born and we were stroking it 24 hours after birth. Asda, Morrisons and Lidl are within a 5 mile drive or walk. Were definitely going back in the summer.
