Only a 10-minute drive or bus ride to Brighton Marina and the nearby cosmopolitan city centre, with numerous bars, live music, eateries, theatres, art galleries and antique shops. Enjoy shopping along The Lanes, saunter along the Palace pier, visit the Royal Pavilion and the Museum and Art Gallery.
There are various National Trust homes and gardens to discover including Nymans, Sheffield Park and Wakehurst Place, also Leonardslee Gardens, Borde Hill Gardens, as well as vineyards (Rathfinny), ferry trips to Dieppe from nearby Newhaven, and the historic Arundel Castle and nearby Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre.
The glorious South Downs National Park has excellent walks and cycle route, or visit Devils Dyke, or Cissbury Ring. Opera at Glyndebourne is a short drive, horse racing at Brighton and Plumpton, showjumping at Hickstead & events at the South of England Showground. The Bluebell Steam Railway at Sheffield Park is also worth a ride! Beach 800 yards. Shop and restaurant 50 yards, pub 100 yards.

Garden cottage is a very cosy and comfortable home from home in a great location for exploring the coast and inland. Rottingdean is also a very interesting village for exploring on foot, and Brighton is easy to visit by bus. There are also plenty of attractions to visit, including National Trust properties which we saw decorated for Christmas, so an added bonus.
