Lovingly restored and gently modernised, it offers not only peace and seclusion, but is also close to the rugged splendour of the Snowdonia National Park, fine sandy beaches, stunning mountain walks and the charming village of Trefor. There are two excellent beaches near the cottage. One is a gently sloping sandy harbour about 10 minutes’ walk through the village from the village shop, which is used by local fishermen to launch their boats. The other one is reached by walking towards the quarry past the local village pub and post office. It is a pebble beach which will stretch the most challenging beachcomber. In addition, the cottage is a short walk from one of the most famous Iron Age hill forts in Wales - Tre Ceiri, The Town of Giants, at the back of the cottage. The foundations and walls of the Iron Age huts are still remaining and the gold torques excavated from the ruins are on display at the National Museum of Wales. All in all, an ideal holiday retreat for families and weekend escapes throughout the year. Shop 2 miles.

The cottage is very comfortable and in a lovely position. The directions given on the agency's booking confirmation are totally inadequate and years out of date. Even in the village shop they didn't know where certain ref.points were like: follow sign for Plas and the pottery, which has long gone. It would have been helpful if we could have contacted the owners at that point, but alas we couldn't reach them. . we knew the code to get into the cottage, but finding the cottage was a nightmare and after a 10 hours journey very stressful and frustrating. In the cottage itself we later found a perfectly clear map of how to get to the place, which should have been printed on the confirmation. Also the cleanliness left a lot to be desired and the oven was dirty. I didn't want to use it. On the whole we enjoyed being there and slept like logs.

Having read some of the previous reviews, I’m really disappointed that the owner hasn’t taken some of the points on board. Briefly, We loved this cottage and it’s location, even with the bad directions which left us circling the village twice. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired / namely, the windows in both the kitchen and bathroom are full of cobwebs and dead spiders and I cleaned some of this myself. A small mobile heater near the cooker was filthy between the gaps. The cutlery in the kitchen drawer needed scrubbing to get hardened on food off it. The tap in the kitchen sink never ran hot, or even warm. The double bed isn’t that comfortable - on a personal note, I can never understand why a king size bed isn’t just standard. In the main bedroom the bedside drawers and pointless chair in the corner could be removed and a larger bed put in. One of the big selling points was a log fire, and then we were told not to use it. The cottage and area are really lovely, but the overall grubbiness inside means we won’t return or recommend. It didn’t stop us having a lovely holiday, but please give it a thorough, deep clean. And give better and more updated info. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

we loved the location of this cottage and in the main it was very comfortable.
we loved the location of this cottage and in the main it was very comfortable.
we loved the location of this cottage and in the main it was very comfortable. The only things that meant we could not give top marks was the size and comfort of the main bed, the fact that there was a single duvet in a double duvet cover so didn't even cover the whole bed and the water pressure mainly in the kitchen. Luckily we had read the reviews on the bed and bought and took with us a memory foam mattress topper which did make it more comfortable for us. We did not have any issues with accessing the cottage although yes the roads coming in either way were narrow we did not meet anyone!! It was peaceful and a wonderful location to have a 2 week holiday for two people. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The views from the cottage are very good, looking across the bay to Anglesey.

The views from the cottage are very good, looking across the bay to Anglesey. But the road up to the cottage from the village is very narrow and up a very steep road. Just thankful we did not meet any vehicle as there was no where to pull into.! The cottage itself was warm but we found the bed to be a bit uncomfortable.
