All on the ground floor, this detached barn type conversion offers cosy accommodation for couples and lies central to many popular seaside villages.. All on the Ground Floor:

Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included.. Patio with table and chairs outside French doors. Lawned, enclosed garden with patio and garden furniture also to side of the house. Private parking for 3-4 cars. No smoking or e-cigarettes. Please note: There are ten steps with handrail to the lawned garden at the side of the property.. Set in the small, picturesque village of Rock. The Old Workshop has been fully converted to create a single-storey holiday cottage. Built in 1856, the Old Workshop is part of a unique set of buildings which were the working centre of Rck estate. The property comprises a spacious open-plan living area with large French windows leading onto the patio, linked to the stylish dining kitchen. Guests are welcome to use the culinary herbs at the front of the cottage for cooking during their stay. There is solid oak flooring throughout the property. The small entrance hall with small storage links to the spacious bedroom with a large built-in wardrobe.
The Old Workshop forms part of the Rock village estate and is well placed for easy visits to the stunning Northumbrian coastline and fabulous local countryside walks. The village has a well-marked trail past the ancient church which is always open and guests are welcome to visit. Alnwick has most major supermarkets, with free parking, and services including a library and theatre. There are several pubs, petrol station and post office /village store in Embleton, 3 miles away. One mile away, Rennington has a pub/restaurant within walking distance. The golden beaches of Newton-by-the-Sea and Embleton are less than 5 miles away.
Car charging is available on-street in Embleton and at M&S in Alnwick.
There are many fabulous coastal walks in the area. Golfers are spoilt for choice being within easy reach of many first-class coastal courses. Inland, the Northumberland National Park is a stunning area of natural beauty, a magnet for cyclists, bird watchers and anglers. The market town of Alnwick, five miles away, is famous for its castle, featured in Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey, and the splendid gardens. Rothbury is also a town worth visiting To the north lies the busy town of Seahouses where trips to Farne Islands can be booked. Amble is an interesting working fishing port to the south and near the successful nature reserve on Low Hauxley. For those who want a longer day out the main east coast line is at Hipsburn /Alnmouth (15 minutes drive) for a trip to Newcastle or Edinburgh.

We were absolutely speechless when we arrived at this beautiful cosy retreat!We were greeted by a warm, spotlessly clean, welcoming interior with the added bonus of a lovely gift from the owner!The bathroom was squeaky clean and the bed was luxurious with high quality bedding.I'm a little reluctant to share this little gem with anyone else however 'praise where praise is due' and we would highly recommend to everyone!Thank you so much to Pam for your wonderful hospitality!! We'll definitely be back!

We loved our weekend away and this is perfectly located to visit many Northumberland attractions such as Alnwick, Alnmouth, Seahouses and Bamburgh. It is well equipped but we found the bed a little hard for our tastes and the cottage so warm that we always had the windows open.

Had a fabulous stay in this lovely toasty cottage. Location was ideal for the beeches and exploring. Would love to come again.
