About this cabin rental

We invite you to enjoy the splendor of Songbird of the Mountain! This custom designed, two-story cabin sits almost atop of a mountain and offers guests amazing views of the Smokies, privacy, and luxury.

Hardwood floors and ceilings throughout, as well as a wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen at Songbird is fully stocked. A handy utility room in the basement provides a washer and driver.

Songbird offers Wi-Fi , two bedrooms, two full baths, indoor Jacuzzi, and flat screen television with satellite.

One bedroom features a comfortable queen size bed and the other a full size with quality bedding and unobstructed views of the mountains. The deck is wonderful for bird and nature watching and offers a breath-taking view of the mountain range. There is on the deck a park-style grill, picnic table, and rocking chairs.

Enjoyed our stay. Loved the secluded location and beautiful views. Great spot for hiking in Smokey Mountain National Park and shopping around Gatlinburg. Hot tub was very nice after day of hiking. Cabin was very clean and kitchen was well supplied. Drive into cabin was no problem.

My husband and I were disappointed once we arrived to our cabin. The pictures online did not represent the current condition of the cabin.The bed was uncomfortable and it hurt my husband’s back so much that we came home a day early. The shower curtain liners need to be replaced as they had rips in them. There were numerous cobwebs throughout the inside of the cabin. The outside and inside of the cabin definitely needs some TLC. The cabin was stocked with various cooking items.My husband and I enjoyed our time in Tennessee but not our time at the cabin.

Great central place to stay for us for hiking with our dog in the Cherokee Mountains, ziplining, white water rafting, and going to Gatlinburg for a day. Stay was excellent and views from decks were outstanding.

As a few other reviews have mentioned, the drive up to the cabin can be a bit challenging due to the steep, dug-out gravel road. My SUV spun out on the first attempt, and it can feel a little nerve-wracking knowing only one car can go up or down at a time. The surrounding area wasn’t the nicest, but that’s not something I hold against the property itself.Inside, we noticed a steep staircase leading down to the laundry room, which we chose not to use. Thankfully, there was a baby gate at the top for safety.That said, waking up to the mountain views was absolutely amazing! While the bedding wasn’t the softest, the cabin was very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the checkout instructions made things incredibly easy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay

Beautiful property, it was in a very quiet area which we loved. No neighbors or ability to see anything besides the Mountain View right from the bedroom window. Easy access to the Smokey mountain trails and neighbor towns. Definitely would stay again.

The cabin felt very clean and has gorgeous sunrise views of the mountains. We had some safety concerns, as there is an entrance to the cabin located in the basement, that we did not have access to. We didnt sleep well knowing that someone could gain access to the property and we couldn’t do anything about it. Additionally, the area around the cabin isn’t the best either. We had several encounters from locals (who made it clear as day they don’t like tourists) that made us feel uneasy, especially with young children in tow. With that being said, the property is in great condition and the hosts were great!

No complaints here! Beautiful cabin almost at the very top of a mountain. There’s only one house above you! Very secluded, all we heard was the birds and one bear rustling around in the woods that we did see one time. Really enjoyed all of the balconies to enjoy the views from! (There are 3 out back and 1 up front). Well needed trip and the perfect place to do it!

My family enjoyed this cabin for a weeks getaway this past week. Everything we needed for a nights dinner grilling and setting was available for use. The hot tub was clean and plenty big for my husband, 13 year old, and myself. Only issue we had was a possible hornets nest being built in the gutters. They were common and loud when out on the porch.

The cabin is remote and the route to get there isn’t the simplest drive, but that’s a big part of the charm! This is a beautiful, peaceful, quiet cabin in the woods. Once you’re there you’ll feel like you have the mountain to yourself. The place was very clean and we had a great stay.

The cabin was exactly as described and expected. Super clean. Well stocked kitchen. Very cozy. It felt like an adult tree house with magnificent, yet peaceful views. We really enjoyed watching all the humming birds and cardinals. The seclusion was exactly what we were looking for; just close enough to pop into town if we needed something.

The cabin was just as pictured. I chose it for the bedroom with all the large windows. There are a lot of trees but you can see the mountains for miles and the sunrises each morning. Everything was clean and nice. Our only complains were the bed is in desperate need of being replaced. It is severely indented in the middle and pillows are flat. I normally bring my own pillows. The road near the cabin is tricky. We were in an suv but all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive would definitely help. It took us 4 tries to start up one section before the cabin and work trucks working on a cabin just up the driveway didnt help the roads at all. Very little parking, ok for 1 vehicle. Directions were spot on, check in instructions were great with tips for your stat which was really nice. Would definitely stay there again.

Completely as described. They were definitely correct about the drive up, if you haven’t been there before get there during daylight hours and have an AWD vehicle. The cabin was spacious, clean, and the view from the bedroom window of the sunrise; you can’t beat that (you don’t even have to leave your bed to see it lol). The hot tub was definitely an added bonus after hiking. Secluded and peaceful! Will definitely be visiting again

Super accurate to description, great view, very clean, road to get there is a little sketchy but was fine with 4WD in rainy weather and 2WD in normal weather, really enjoyed our stay, dollar general and gas station nearby, no ladybugs, overall thoroughly enjoyed.

We really enjoyed our stay at songbird of the mountain. The cabin was clean, just the right size for our family of 4, and in a very quiet location. It was great to be able to get away from the crazyness of Gatlinburg and have a quite, peaceful place to stay. The cabin had everything we needed in terms of linens and kitchen supplies. The view from the cabin was also a terrific overlook of the smokies. Two areas of concern we had. Both my wife and i picked up splinters from the wood floor in the cabin even with socks on, so that may need a little work. Also the drive up the moutain was a bit rough. Its very steep and the gravel road over part of it is both pretty loose gravel and very bumpy. We needed 4 wheel drive to climb that part of the road and had to go very slow so with all the bumps and ruts. We basically went down in the morning to head out for activities and then came back up in the evening so we only had to drive the slope once a day.

From the pictures I was expecting an outdoor fireplace, but once we got there, I read and saw it was no longer there.. That was just an us thing wanting that part, but again it was in the description, I just didn’t read it all. Cute place, however, I’m not sure we would’ve made it up there without my husbands truck. Could not be happier with this property! The description was spot on. Up in the mountains but not TOO far up in the mountains. You dont need 4x4 to get there but it is quite the fun ride up. There are 3 different porches or balconies that provide a great view but for us it was the view from the master bed that was so amazing!Everything was clean and in great shape. We both had great cell service in the home for what that is worth. Definitely would stay here again!

Beautiful views! Back off in the country very quiet and peaceful only thing I would say is there was a lot of dead lady bugs upstairs not a big deal to me might be to others. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Cabin was situated at the top of a hill with a beautiful view looking over the mountains as shown in the pictures. This was by far the best part of the cabin as we got to view some beautiful fall colors. Looked like some trees were recently cut down so the view is no longer impeded like some previous comments mention. Overall the cabin is as advertised and fairly comfortable inside. It’s quiet and secluded which is nice. The driveway is steep as stated but we had no issues making it up in our car. The first gravel uphill road however is awful. It’s right after the bridge and it’s steep and very bumpy so it makes for a nerve-racking drive up. It’s the road and not part of the driveway so probably not much the hosts can do, but it should definitely be paved. Other than the gorgeous views the cabin is pretty average. It is a little dated but overall well kept. The hot tub was nice but only half the jets actually worked well. Biggest issue were the bugs. Couldn’t really enjoy sitting on the balcony due to all of the bugs (bitting and non-bitting bugs). There were also ladybugs everywhere! Inside and outside. We understand that it’s hard to control pests outside but the amount of ladybugs inside the cabin is ridiculous. Overall we enjoyed our stay and loved the views. Wouldn’t stay here again because of the minor issues mentioned above and it’s not worth the price charged. We’ve stayed in much nicer cabins for less then the price of this place.
