Oceanview Family Retreat with Saltwater Hot Tub – Steps from the Beach

Our family had a wonderful stay here!

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend at this house. The backyard has stunning views and a lovely hot tub to soak it all in. We watched surfers and paddle boarders at all daylight hours. We had an amazing view of fireworks on the beach. The host, Wolfgang also had new chairs delivered for us to really enjoy the outdoor space. Inside the house has very comfortable beds and pillows and plenty of seating. There were three bathrooms with showers, so very convenient for space. The view is also available from inside the house, particularly the dining table.

Place worked great for our needs. Beautiful view, hot tub was lovely, local hikes and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Location is everything with this property. The views can't be beat. Some disappointing features that could easily be fixed by property owners. For the basics: there were 8 of us, we asked if there was seating for 8 at the table, they assured us there was. Only 6 chairs, we found another one by a desk, and then brought one of the rusty ones from the deck outside for the 8th. Kitchen: only 5 spoons (for 8 people), not well stocked at all. Plenty of pans/pots, but only 1 bowl for storage, no food storage options. Toaster did not work, while the coffee pot made coffee, the warmer did not work, so had to keep warming cups of coffee. 4th bedroom (2 kings) - not like in the pics, cluttered. Items stuffed on each side of the beds which made getting in difficult. The washer/dryer is in this room (converted garage), but no sheetrock in the closet with the washer/dryer. Floor uneven - walking was difficult - threshold between room and entry to main house was unfinished and uneven. like a 1.5" difference which caused tripping/stubbed toe. Outside - not as pictured. Soda can left in back yard, chairs stacked up, furniture rickety - again, as we kept telling ourselves, the "view" was a savior, but some attention to little details would go a log way. Bay window in dining room needs replacing - it was "foggy" between the panes and not a clear view. Hot tub great - house needs a little TLC, and more preparation for guests. Felt like we came to a place that has been shuttered for the season.
