lovely property, excellent location, clean and cosy

The cabin was beautiful, spacious (probably wouldn’t want more than 3 staying), cosy and there was a big spa bath and shared sauna. it also had a well stocked kitchen! The location was incredible! it is centrally located and about a 5 minute walk from supermarket, 2 minute walk to restaurants and pubs. it is also about a 10 minute walk to the northern lights village! They even left us some Prosecco (ice edition) for when we arrived which was lovely. Checking out was easy and relatively simple (at the office next to supermarket). They also let us store our bags for the day which was nice. Checking in was easy as we had a private taxi transfer which picked us up, took us to the supermarket, picked up our keys and drove us to the property but on our first night, this may have been difficult without this service.

Nothing - property was everything we needed! only two negatives: - breakfast included (located at cafe next to supermarket) wasn’t the best. we bought food and cooked at the cabin ourselves. - booking excursions through the property was a bit painful. (I.e took ages to respond to messages / didn’t communicate properly resulting in an uncooked excursion - although this was rectified with another company which they organised for us, messages from one email request came back in about 5 or 6 emails which made it harder to respond to).

Ideal place with space and close to amenities

The place is ideal, plenty of space, bed super comfy, and beautiful location. There is a supermarket and activities to do within walking distance. The sauna is a plus.

there was nothing g we didn’t like about it. the only suggestion would be to have the heater of the bathroom on before guest arrive, as it was freezing there and it took a bit of time for the property to warm up.

The facilities were very good.

The open fire which wasn't in use had be filled with an electric fire. The draft through the open space made the room cold.

Saariselkä is a wonderful and beautiful place and our experience in general was magical.

Key pickup unnecessarily awkward. A coded box at the apartment would be far, far smoother. Each guest could be given a code for their box and so could collect their key at ANY time of day. One location to get to...then just move in!!! Also, no mention that our included vouchers for dinner were only valid till 6pm!! That’s so early!!! We would have had to have interrupted our day to have a ridiculously early dinner at 5:30pm! The buffet would probably be sad & sparse by then. So we never had dinner there. 😕 We were told by our host that the kitchen would be open till 8:30pm...NOTHING about the fact that our vouchers would be void. Also, getting information about some activities did not always ring true (biased to obviously support certain companies). Very frustrating...we could have done much better for our group (to do a Northern Lights safari). Regarding that event (only) we felt TOTALLY RIPPED OFF! 120Euros each to drive a short distance to Lake Inari which had much more light pollution from Ivalo, than from Saariselkä where we were staying. So 120Euros for that short transportation, a hot sweet drink & a sweet bun in a teepee. Nice experience for 50Euros max!
