a great stay in a special house in a lovely location

The area where the house is located is great. 6-7kms to the beach! Very quiet and opposite a stork nest! The house itself looks lovely. A cottage that is larger than it looks. 3 spaces downstairs including a large kitchen, and two sitting areas. 3 small bedrooms upstairs under the roof. The bed where we slept in was super comfortable. There is also a small room facing south and the same side as the garden where it is very sunny and great to have breakfast. The heating system works well and this is nicely complemented by a wood "kachel" (closed chimney) downstairs. It was necessary as it was very cold when we were there. The owner was not on site to welcome us but he left clear instructions to get the keys and was available and agreeable to answer further questions by whatsapp. The wifi worked very well.

The house is a mix of tasty old fashion and outdated furniture which gives it a special atmosphere, way less impersonal that normal holiday houses. Books, CD, tapes that belong to the owners are present in the main room. It is after all their holiday house The house takes a little getting-use-to to find everything. For instance, there was no way to start the fire in the kachel when we arrived. There is a man-bike in the shed that has a fancy lock but no combination was available to use the bike safely. The towels were not in the bathroom. There were no extra roll of toilette paper. Having said that, most of the other stuff was there, washing tablets for the dishwasher, kitchen towels, washing liquid etc etc. Once we got sorted, we really had a great time. The bathroom works very well with good supply of hot water but is far away from the bedrooms and is a little basic.

Disappointment was that the Wifi was not working. This was for us one of the reasons to rent this house. Owner tried to fix it but this was not possible during our stay.

Schön war’s!!!

Es war wirklich, wirklich alles da- Kaffee, Eier, Gewürze und und und….( was man verbraucht, sollte für nachkommende Mieter wieder aufgefüllt werden). Schöne Bauernkate mit einer urigen Einrichtung. Wir haben uns in den großen Gasherd verliebt. Restaurants, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten ca. 2 km entfernt- mit dem Rad alles schnell zu erreichen. Zum Strand mit dem Rad ca. 30 Minuten. Parkmöglichkeit direkt vor dem Haus. Netter Kontakt mit dem Vermieter schon vorher. Sehr großzügiges Grundstück. Im Schuppen ist auch ausreichend Platz um eigene Fahrräder abzustellen.

Jetzt kommt Jammern auf hohem Niveau: Toll wäre eine Überdachung draußen- dann könnte man auch bei Regen noch draußen sitzen

Een plek om tot rust te komen

Prachtige locatie met vrij zicht op de velden in een heerlijk rustig rustiek dorpje. Het huis op zich geeft ook een gevoel van rust en dat je er welkom bent. Ook het feit dat er fietsen beschikbaar waren was een grote Plus!

Het bed waar wij geslapen hebben was voor mijn smaak wat hard maar kom, als dat het enige minpuntje was gaan we echt niet klagen.

Heerlijke plek om even lekker bij te komen

Heerlijke stille plek in een voor ons onbekende uithoek van Nederland, vlakbij het uiterste westelijke punt van NL. Prachtige uitvalsbasis richting plaatsen als Knokke-Heist en Brugge, maar zeker ook het strand bij Cadzand-Bad. Sint Anna ter Muiden zelf is een slaperig gehuchtje met veel historie. Ruim 850 jaar oud, met veel historische huisjes. De locatie zelf is ook oud, maar knus en voorzien van alle benodigde zaken.

Er viel niks tegen. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is prima en als je er mee rekening houdt dat je niet in een 5 sterren hotel terecht komt, ga je je hier uitstekend vermaken. Voor ons was het alsof we terug in de tijd gingen. Zoals onze opa en oma vroeger woonden qua huisje (relatief klein maar knus) maar dan voorzien van alle moderne gemakken (6 pits gasstel, oven, magnetron, nespresso, CV enz).
