Welcome to our one bedroom condo, “Somewhere in the Sun” in the Cruz Bay luxury resort, Grande Bay! Grande Bay Resort is a 48 unit resort directly on Cruz Bay and less than a five minute walk to ‘downtown' Cruz Bay with the ferry and all its restaurants, bars and shops. We have spectacular views of the water and harbor with St Thomas in the distance from the balconies. We are in the upper building within Grande Bay, providing more privacy and quiet than the lower building on the street. Use our condo as your base to explore the most beautiful island on earth..."Somewhere in the Sun"!
The moment you disembark the ferry on St. John, our on-island property managers will acquaint you with your island home .
Grande Bay Resort features a shared swimming pool and hot tub on a large sun deck, exercise room with treadmills, bikes, elliptical , and various weight equipment, free wireless internet, and 24 hour staffed reception desk and security.
GREAT ROOM / BALCONY
The rattan furnishings in the great room including a sofa, side chairs, occasional tables, dining table for four, entertainment center with flat screen TV with cable channels, and stereo. The sofa converts to a queen-size bed, so that this unit comfortably sleeps 4 people. Comfortable furnishings, artwork, accessories, and tile floors throughout bring everything together with a Caribbean flair.
Through sliding glass doors off the great room you can enjoy al fresco dining or cocktails on the 80 square foot, tiled, covered balcony with a view to Cruz Bay harbor and, in the distance, Pillsbury Sound between St. John and St. Thomas with its beautiful azure water and sailboats tacking in the wind. Enjoy the view with your beverage and snacks on our new drink rails and high back chairs!
NEWLY RENOVATED KITCHEN!
The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen is newly renovated and includes granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, as well as coffee maker, blender, toaster, teapot, dishes, glassware, cookware, and utensils -- everything you will need to prepare snacks for the beach, exotic island drinks, or a gourmet dinner. A breakfast bar overlooks the kitchen and separates it from the great room.
ONE BEDROOM SUITE WITH FULL BATH
The tropical decor continues in the bedroom/bath suite which features a king size bed, nightstands with reading lamps, chest of drawers, and flat screen tv. The ensuite bath has a large granite-topped vanity and a tiled shower. All linens and towels - including beach towels-are provided and a washer/dryer and iron/ironing board are available for your use.

For your convenience, there is a lock-out studio unit next door. This means that our units can be rented individually as a one bedroom unit or as a studio unit, or as a 2 bedroom unit using both sides. The studio unIt has an additional bath (identical to one bedroom ensuite) with granite- topped vanity and tiled shower. The studio features a king size bed with nightstand, reading lamps, and a chest of drawers.. The unit includes a living area with a queen size pull out sofa and coffee table and flat screen TV. There is a kitchenette with full size fridge, microwave, blender, coffee maker and toaster, as well as dishes and utensils.. and a 4 burner George Foreman grill and 2 burner hot plate make it easy to eat in for a few meals at a table that seats 4 or out on your balcony! All linens and towels are provided and a washer/dryer and iron/ironing board are available for your use. Beach towels, coolers, and beach chairs are available for your day at the beach!

RESORT AMENITIES
A cascading waterfall runs in front of the large deck area at Grande Bay Resort. The deck features a pool and hot tub and overlooks Cruz Bay harbor with sailboats gently swaying on their moorings. You can relax poolside in the lounge chairs -- tanning by day, watching the sunset over St. Thomas at dusk, and viewing the sparkling stars at night. An air conditioned work out facility with new state-of-the-art exercise equipment (including Pilates machine) is located below the pool deck.

If you decide to rent a vehicle (reservations should be made in advance), a reserved parking space is available in the parking garage at Grande Bay. However, renting a vehicle is optional because of the convenient location of "Somewhere In The Sun"! You are within walking distance of the eclectic duty-free shopping and dining options in the town of Cruz Bay.
Solomon and Honeymoon beaches can be reached from the condo on a scenic 30 minute hike from the VI National Park entrance across from Mongoose Junction. Many of the water sport activities originate right in Cruz Bay, as well as a new “golf cart shuttle” service to Honeymoon Beach from Caneel Bay Resort.. Without a vehicle, you are within short walking distance of the VITRAN bus stop and the taxi stand, both located by the ferry dock.
Local open-air taxis regularly provide transportation to the most famous of St. John's beaches on the north shore, including Hawksnest, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay, and Maho Bay with the fun “Crossroads” destination.
There currently is no requirement for U.S. citizens to have a passport when traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands. If you wish to venture to the nearby British Virgin Islands, a passport is required.

We were very impressed with the condo. It was exactly as advertised, and so clean. The location was perfect. Everyone was so nice and helpful. We will definitely be going back.

The room was great. Good location. You could see some of Cruz Bay burning you wanted a full view that could be seen from the pool. We were out every day anyway so it really didn’t matter. It was still a pretty view. The bed was so comfy I didn’t want to leave it. lol. The only reason I have it 4 stars was not because of the room but the room above us was being completely gutted with jack hammers all day for about 4 days and then other extremely loud work. I’d check to make sure if you rent here that there won’t be ongoing renovations near you. It was solid we could hear it at the pool. They had a locker with chairs and floats which was nice. Full kitchen also. 5 minute walk to restaurants and the open air taxis so no need for a jeep really. We had done that before in the Island a couple of times but find being closer to Cruz Bay our past few times convenient. I highly recommend the unit we rented - #slomewhereinthesuncondos! Also, the host was very quick to respond which is a plus!

This was a great condo for our stay on St. John. We loved being in town and having a dedicated parking spot. The unit had everything we were looking for and would not hesitate to stay here again.
