Waihi Beach Hive is the ultimate group getaway, just 300m from the beach. Sleeping up to 20 across 7 bedrooms, it’s perfect for families and friends. Enjoy views over Seaforth Reserve from the huge wraparound deck, fire up the BBQ, and relax in a spacious, pet-friendly bach. Plenty of room for kids to play and everyone to unwind – your perfect beach escape starts here!
Please note...*from December 20 to January 31, we have a flat rate of $1150 p/n for up to 20 people, plus a one-off cleaning fee of $245. Homeaway put their commission on top of this. The downstairs 5 bedroom house can sleep up to 16, and the upstairs 2 bedroom self contained unit sleeps another 4 people, all included!
The space:
Light and airy, casual and relaxed, The Waihi Beach Hive has a bright and spacious open plan living area downstairs that easily flows to large outdoor decks with a dining table and chairs, comfy cane lounge suite. and assorted outdoor furniture. Fire up the BBQ and dine Al fresco with your group, while taking in the view over Seaforth Reserve next door. The epic deck, is fully lit at night, with plenty of throws to snuggle down, chill and relax. Tastefully decorated, this is still a no-fuss kiwi bach. In addition to the two family bathrooms downstairs, there are two separate toilets and another bathroom/toilet upstairs in the studio. Pet friendly and fully fenced for fun family times.
Upstairs, the fully self contained 2bdrm studio sleeps 4. The studio has bi fold doors opening out onto a peaceful upstairs balcony, overlooking the pohutukawas and tuis.
Guest access:
The Beach Hive is accessed by a lock box and sleeps up to 20 people. It has a full kitchen, dishwasher, fridge/freezer x 2, dishwasher, highchair, microwave, washing machine, dryer, Smart T. Vs in lounge ( and upstairs studio, should you require it) Extra TV and DVD player in playroom. Free WIFI & Netflix. Heaters and fans availabe for extra comfort. Outdoor area has a dining table and chairs, relaxing cane lounge suite and more outdoor furniture plus a big BBQ with a gas bottle. Please feel free to fully utilise everything downstairs (apart from a few locked cupboards) and make yourselves at home!
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE -
Under kiwi bach tradition you are expected to bring your own sheets, pillowslips and towels and sleeping bags. The beds all have mattress protectors, pillows, duvets and their covers. Extra blankets are readily available in the wardrobes.
DOGS: are welcome by arrangement.Only small dogs are to be allowed inside. The charge for pets is $20 per day per dog applies and will be added after you confirm. The property is fully fenced and pet bowls are provided for your pets comfort. Animals are the pet owners responsiblity. Let me know how many dogs that you want to bring and please remove your dogs deposits so that the yard is clean and tidy for the next family.
The ' Beach Hive' is truly aimed at family and friends having a fantastic time together. Please be respectful of your neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.

Long weekend retreat with extended family, Children 1 - 7, years , had a large lawn to run around on , scooters to ride on the drive and toys in a cupboard. Dogs are fully fenced and accepted a real bonus. Several areas for chilling out , and as we rented to upstairs room the Big Kids could set up board games and play with out being in the way or too noisy. A very easy 4 minute walk to the beach . The best hottest showers ive had in a beach house. Dishwasher , fully equipped kitchen , and a few staples in the pantry , salt oil etc. Weve had the best family weekend together in years .. Location Location Location . Well be back

The property suited our family well. The house was clean and had plenty of crockery/cutlery for the 18 people who were there. The children enjoyed the flat grass area and how close the property was to the beach.

We had the best weekend away at the Beach Hive! The communication with Lynley was great, the house was incredibly clean and well set up for our family. Would 100% recommend to anyone considering booking!
