About this chalet rental
I fell in love with the Smoky Mountains since the first time I set eyes on them. I came down to Gatlinburg for some R&R and next thing you know we bought a chalet to eventually retire in. I fixed it to my liking and now family, friends and YOU are able to enjoy relaxing and a great adventure…hence the name “Secondhand Lions” (a favorite movie of mine). Conveniently located just a few short minute’s to downtown Gatlinburg or to the top of Ski Mountain (Ober Gatlinburg), quiet walkways and, of course, the Great Smoky Mountain park entrance where the adventure really begins.
“Secondhand Lions” …Tranquil setting with all the comforts of home! The great room is decorated in Native American art. The bedrooms are equipped with a pair of Jacuzzi Hydro Message Tubs for that deep relaxation after a long day of hiking or shopping- whichever you prefer.
Surrounded by trees and wildlife make this a very relaxing and comfortable stay. ( Warning: we have bears frequent our deck and seem to be able to open unlocked car doors). Please take a photo of your stay and send me if you encounter a bear on the property. We will display it on our refrigerator.
Special weekly rates and off-season rates…call or email to find out. Enjoy in season Owners Club facilities (choice of 3 on the mountain).

Fabulous location and such a cute place for two couples/friends or a small family! We had everything we needed and really enjoyed our stay. I particularly loved the porch. Comments about the sharp incline and turn into the driveway haven't stayed in a mountain chateau before ;) the owner gives you instructions on how to go the opposite direction so that you have a much easier time getting in! I would absolutely stay here again and we really appreciated being able to bring our well behaved dogs with us. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin in Gatlinburg! The location was perfect—close enough to downtown to enjoy all the attractions, restaurants, and shopping, yet far enough away to relax and enjoy the peaceful mountain setting.We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the Smoky Mountains!

Driveway and parking is difficult very steep hard to get into, downstairs shower little water pressure couch not very comfortable limited seating for more than 4 jacuzzi was nice pretty view outside from porch jacuzzi tubs in each room is nice if you like that there was a problem with ants and spiders as well.
