Kiahuna Plantation Beach House #179 – Our Hawaiian Heaven
We welcome you to our Kiahuna Plantation Beach House. Unit #179 is our home away from home, and we look forward to sharing it with you. Our unit was completely remodeled with an open concept kitchen with quartz counters, new cabinets and appliances. There is also a new quartz vanity and walk in shower. We also added all new living room and dining room furniture, as well as new flooring and paint. In January of 2024, we installed Air Conditioning in the living room and bedroom. (most Kiahuna Condos with A/C have it only in the living room). We also have 1 gig internet via fiberoptic cable. Our condo is located in a quiet and coveted portion of the Kiahuna Plantation property, just off the ‘Great Lawn’ and near the beach, but set back a bit for more privacy. There is a pleasant lanai with a great ocean view to watch the surf, enjoy meals, relax with a book, or sip an evening cocktail. Our unit’s second story location provides vaulted ceilings, a better view and takes advantage of the cooling trade winds. Parking is close by and there’s only one flight of stairs. It’s about a 1 minute walk to the sand so there’s no need to pack the car for a day at the beach. The Poipu Village Shopping Center is about a 6 minute walk across the street for dining, shopping or a quick Starbucks run. Also a 6 minute walk is the Poipu Beach Athletic Club which is available to our guests. At the Athletic Club you’ll find a pool, spa, tennis courts and work out facilities as well as a poolside restaurant.

Kiahuna Plantation is the only beach front condominium property on the south shore of Kauai. It is located on 35 acres of lush, manicured tropical grounds with low density and is reminiscent of old Hawaii. The ‘Great Lawn’ at the center of the property is a great place for couples or families to gather and watch the sunset, to play Frisbee or catch or sunbathe. There are well maintained bar-b-ques to grill your favorite meat, fish or vegetables. Near the beach, the Beach Hut offers towels, lounge and beach chairs, snorkel and Boogie board rentals, concierge services, as well as surfing lessons. Poipu Beach, adjacent to Kiahuna is consistently highly rated by travel magazines as well as USA Today. The Kiahuna Golf Club and Poipu Bay Golf Club are only a short distance away.
Kiahuna Plantation Resort is built on what was the plantation manager’s estate for Hawaii’s first sugar plantation. The plantation manager’s home, dating to the 1930’s, previously served as the Plantation Gardens Restaurant. The cactus and orchid gardens planted by Sandie Moir, the plantation manager’s wife, are still present today adjacent to the restaurant. “Kiahuna” translated loosely from the Hawaiian means “the key to a hidden place or secret”….it truly is a very special place.

We have been vacationing at Kiahuna Plantation for years and this unit was far and away the best. Perfect condo for our family of four. Its location is ideal on the great lawn overlooking the ocean and best beach on Poipu. Close to the new Cafe on Kiahuna. It’s completely renovated with high end cabinets and appliances - feels luxurious. The AC is a huge bonus as most units don’t have it. The kitchen is well stocked as is the beach closet- umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards. Lots of interesting books on Kauai and games for families. Felt very welcoming. Everything you need for a great trip. Owners are super helpful and responsive. Genuinely excited to ensure you enjoy your vacation on Poipu. Unit was very clean and well stocked. We’ll be back for sure! Aloha!

We started off our trip in this wonderful unit in Poipu. What an awesome ocean view as soon as you walk in! The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need for meal prep. We enjoyed eating our breakfast on the lanai - taking in the gorgeous view of the waves. Such cute and comfy decor and furniture - it made us feel like we were at home. Excellent communication, easy check in/out, clean unit and you can’t beat the pool at ‘the club’ and the great eats at the restaurant there. Close proximity to so many eateries, shopping, beaches and sites to see! Split unit AC’s and ceiling fans in each room was a huge plus in our book. You couldn’t ask for more. You have a very beautiful family, mahalo for sharing your little piece of Paradise in Kauai with us. We had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate recommending others to stay here and can’t wait to book another trip ourselves!

Don’t hesitate to book this condo! I compared a lot of different properties and condos and we were so happy with our choice. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. The location of this unit within the property is perfect- steps from the beach and stunning view (I would call it more of a partial ocean view but in all fairness ocean view is different than ocean front). We sat out on the lanai quite often and loved every minute of it. Perfect place for coffee or a glass of wine or read a book. We were also really grateful for the TWO AC units. It got quite warm while we were there and it was nice to have AC after a long day of activities. Lastly, the owners were an absolute pleasure to communicate with. They were so considerate and helpful. After we left Kauai we went to Maui and stayed at the Hyatt Regency and we preferred this place! Definitely would stay here again!

Amenities are deceiving. The listing says pool, hot tub and fitness center so I assumed they were on the property. You actually have to use the Poipu Athletic Club, which is just ok.
The locks where changed while we were out one day with no notice. It was pretty scary since we got back to our room late. Luckily the office was still open to give us a code.
The room itself is cute and well appointment. It was so hot though we hated spending time inside. Instead we tried to find a hotel with air con but everywhere was booked.
No wifi in the room, we were told by maintenance it was off and we weren’t allowed to reset it ourselves. Had to wait for the internet service provider. Never did get it.
The beach is lovely and the location is wonderful
