Winter discounts. Cozy upper room, very private. Separate entrance from residence upstairs. Queen bed, retro mini fridge and microwave, Mr. Coffee with coffee provided, Cedar lined closet with luggage racks, and extra storage space. Deck with view of the 7 Sisters mountain range, great for soaking up rays or star gazing. Wi-fi, Smart TV. Spacious bath with freestanding soaking tub and separate shower. We do have A/C and heat. Walk to downtown Black Mountain where you will find quaint mountain shops, great restaurants, breweries and more. 15 minutes to Asheville. We are dog friendly with full fencing. Large stone firepit with wood provided. Deck with swing and bench, full back yard with grill. The small fridge does not make ice but will be happy to provide ice and cooler. Montreat 5 minutes away with lovely hiking trails, park, church, chappel. Walk or drive to Lake Tomahawk with nice hiking trails and beautiful mountain view.

Mary’s place fit the bill perfectly. The suite was incredibly clean. The bathroom had a lovely tiled shower with a full relaxing shower spray. . The bed was comfortable and the attached deck was perfect for us to relax with our dog. The private fenced yard was loved by our pooch. Mary had detailed instructions on the WiFi and TV. The neighborhood was quiet. We felt perfectly safe to take our dog for a late evening walk. We will certainly be back, hopefully sooner than later.

The town itself is fantastic, with tons of cool things to do and great breweries. Just what I was needing for a few nights traveling by myself. I was a bit hesitant before booking since it's attached to someone's house, but such positive reviews, I booked it. I'm glad I did. Mary was a wonderful host. Stairs up to your own entrance and balcony facing the mountains. Cute and charming inside with a spacious bathroom. We had another lovely stay in the Upper Room recently. We've lost track of how many times we've stayed! It's like coming back home as we know where everything is and what to expect. Ms. Mary has thought of all the 'extras' so that we don't have to! We enjoyed our time around the fire with both Ms. Mary, Mr. Will, Taz and Odie! We were happy to see for ourselves that the sweet town of Black Mountain survived the aftermath of Helene. If you ever get a chance to visit Black Mountain, you must stay at the Cozy Upper Room. Be sure to stop in at Mountain Nest Gallery for beautiful treasures from local artists, Foothills Grange for a unique indoor/outdoor brew experience, Louise's Kitchen for a good old fashioned breakfast, and Recess Coffee & Bakery for awesome breakfast pastries and be sure to grab a fresh-baked loaf of sourdough to take home!

Cozy Upper Room was perfect! The location was wonderful, the accommodations were superb, and the town of Black Mountain was so enjoyable! We really enjoyed eating our meals on the deck, especially our morning coffee. The birds were so vocal in the mornings! And the tub was such a luxury!! We also loved meeting Ottie and Taz, the dogs! What sweethearts!! Also, don't miss out on the local farmers market on Saturday mornings! What a treat, and it's only 3 blocks away! Cozy Upper Room is a fantastic place to stay and Mary puts a lot of special touches into the space to help you enjoy it just a little bit more! I highly recommend it!

I stayed at the cozy upper room while I was attending an herbal conference in Black Mountain. Everything about this space was perfect for me-nestled in an adorable neighborhood in the heart of downtown, the room above their house is immaculate! I could definitely live in a tiny home-as long as it had the soaker tub found in this space. Every night, after long hours in lectures, I came back and immediately soaked in the tub. I really enjoyed having my door open in the mornings and listening to the song birds. The skyline with its mountains and clouds was so beautiful that I spent each morning sitting on the deck drinking my coffee and each late afternoon drinking my tea. I will definitely return to this space next year again. Thank you so much for sharing your home with me.

Great, cozy lodging conveniently located close to downtown Black Mountain. Spotless. Small space, but set up perfectly to give you all the space you need for a home base. Roomy, updated bathroom with everything you could possibly need. Soaker tub is quite a bonus after a day of hiking. The views from the deck as well as inside are beautiful. Use of the fire pit was also a wonderful bonus. Host was gracious and thought of everything. Highly recommend.
