This private villa in Playa Hermosa is a retreat within the four-star rated Villas Sol Hotel and Beach Resort! Conveniently located 14 miles from the Liberia International airport and a short walk to the beach!

THE PROPERTY. This newly remodeled Costa Rican villa offers stunning views of Playa Hermosa from a hillside, secluded terrace. A terrace with a splash pool! Inside, the villa’s vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and wall-to-wall glass sliding doors provide a light & bright feel, that provides an open floor plan between the outdoor and indoor living spaces. This fully furnished villa has amenities that include air conditioning in each room, WiFi, satellite TVs, washer/dryer, a stocked kitchen, and an outdoor shower. Guest parking is nearly adjacent to the villa, located within this gated community. Welcome to Villa #45!

Guests can enjoy Villas Sol's Resort amenities free of charge, which includes: two pools with scheduled guest activities such as pool volleyball; a jacuzzi and game center; shuttle services; and access to Villas Sol's ocean-view restaurants & bars, mini-markets, equipment rental and spa services. **Villas Sol is a gated community with 24/7 security. Beach access from the villa is located entirely within this secured area, as is guest parking!
SHUTTLE SERVICES
Everything you may need is within walking distance of the villa, but for ease, take advantage of the resort’s shuttle service! The shuttle runs from 6 AM to 12 AM daily, with pick-up about every 15 minutes, to get around the resort and to Hermosa beach. The resort also provides shuttle to Playa del Coco for a small charge.
ALL-INCLUSIVE OPTION
For days when you'd like to stay close to the villa and take-in all the resort has to offer, Villas Sol offers a $55.00/day all-inclusive option, which allows you to enjoy all of your meals at the restaurant and snack bar, as well as adult beverages by the pool: all-inclusive!

We stayed at Chris’s villa for a week earlier this month while visiting Costa Rica for the very first time. It was an inspired choice.Chris is an excellent host. Right from the get-go we knew we’d made the right decision. He reached out to us with lots of information about Villas Sol and Playa Hermosa and was very responsive both in the run-up to our trip and during it. The villa itself was a home away from home with everything we could possibly need. The bed was firm but comfortable with quality linens. The bathroom towels were large, soft and plush. The kitchen has everything you’d need - it’s fully equipped and we ate breakfast at the villa most days. We also grilled one evening! The washing machine and dryer are a real bonus too. Watching the sunset from the patio each evening was an amazing experience. The pool is a good size and we made full use of it. It was great sitting in one of the hammock chairs, beverage in hand, feet in the pool, completely relaxed and watching the sun go down.The resort was generally peaceful. We had no concerns about personal safety or security. Just keep an eye out for raccoons lol. Chris made some excellent suggestions in terms of tours and we hired José of Guanacaste Adventure Tours based on his recommendation. He also suggested some local restaurants and they were spot on!In short, you’d be a fool not to stay here. It’s an amazing villa in a great location with a fabulous host! We truly had the best of times!

The villa we stayed at was everything we needed for living and cooking, and very well equipped overall. It was a nice, mostly downhill walk to the beach and we usually took the shuttle back to our unit since it's quite an uphill climb, though doable for most people in reasonable shape (we're in our 60s). A modest grocery store is 1.3 km away, right next to what is the best stocked and most reasonably priced souvenir shop in the area. About a 15 minute walk each way. A larger store is about 4 km further by taxi if you want, but we were there 15 days and didn't need to go that far for anything. The owner was quick to respond to any queries, as was his property manager. He also put us in touch with a knowledgeable and reliable tour driver to get us to/from the airport and take us on the excursions we wanted to do. We saw and heard howler monkeys, and iguanas are a common sight. The beach was not crowded at all, plenty of lounging chairs, and there are some good eating establishments down there if you want. All around, a great experience. We'd rent from him again.

Proximity to the beach (and grocery store/pharmacy) was a 10-15 min. walk, which was convenient and necessary. The shuttles around the resort to the beach were not as timely as years past.. We loved the splash pool and pool deck.

Overall the location was good as was the house. However it took an hour and multiple calls and text messages to get the code to enter the property. This was problematic after a long day of travel. Additionally this property limits guests to 4 rolls of toilet paper which is just ridiculous especially when we didn't even get 4 full rolls, there are no kleenexes, etc. I have never stayed anywhere with a limitation on toilet paper. When I reached out the owner was flipant and rude - while he later kinda apologized it was enough to leave a bad impression. We do not plan on staying there again.
