About this cottage rental

Relax in the privacy of your classic 1930's beach cottage. Located on Pleasant Beach, Bainbridge Island's best no-bank, sandy beach. The cottage faces west for beautiful views and the afternoon sunshine. The yard is professionally landscaped and the beach is accessed by only a few steps. Relax in the claw-foot tub or read a book on the covered porch. Enjoy quality high thread count cotton sheets, along with robes and towels. Stroll the beach for agates, sand dollars, shells, bald eagles, herons, otters and seals. Stretch out a beach towel and enjoy the warm sunshine and waves lapping against the shoreline. Take a nap on the hammock between two cedar trees. Barbecue a salmon and eat by the beach on the patio. Great biking and hiking directly out the front door. An easy walk to your morning latte and bakery, restaurants, Walt's neighborhood market, The Historic Lynwood Theater, along with the new Pleasant Beach Village stores & restaurants. We are located on a bus route, a short 5 minute drive from town. A mooring buoy is available if you arrive by Boat! Sorry no smoking or pets. Rates are $300-$400 night plus Cleaning Fee of $120 & Tax. Also available is our studio cottage next door (VRBO Listing #142899). Together they share 100' of Pleasant Beach waterfront. Sleeps 8 total between 2 private cottages. Enjoy the beach & barbecue with family/friends and then retreat to your own private cottage.

We had a great time staying in this cottage. It’s right on the Sound—the yard is spectacular and the location can’t be beat (a short one block walk to pastries, coffee, restaurants and a small movie theater). The cottage feels very private despite access to the town. And the cottage itself is very charming and feels like what Bainbridge must have felt like generations ago (albeit with new appliances!) If you want a quiet, peaceful stay—this is your place!

Very cute beachfront cottage where you can watch the ocean from the large windows. Beach was a few steps away from the back porch. Great location less than 5 minutes walk from Lynwood center, with access to several good restaurants and other amenities. Cottage was older, but had everything we needed for our stay (except a microwave). Property manager was super responsive.

The property is lovely, from the access to the beach, the views and closeness to Lynwood Center. We were attending a wedding at the Center, and it was a short walk. The house is very sweet and nicely furnished. The retro kitchen is a nice touch.

This cute waterfront cottage is set in a quiet part of Bainbridge on the water. It is a peaceful setting, and within easy walking distance to some quaint tasty restaurants and some shops. The cottage is very comfortable and while not luxurious, it is the perfect antidote to a busy life. I hope to return.

We arrived on Monday afternoon after a quick ferry ride from Seattle. The house was perfect and the location was great. I loved the backyard, the fire pit, and beach access. The house was cozy...the kitchen had everything we needed to make coffee/breakfast and we even made dinner twice. The only thing was the pillows...I believe they were all down feathers, so my allergies were a little nuts, but no big deal. I would stay here again for sure!

We found the cottage very clean, well stocked, plenty of towels and comfortable beds. It has been nicely and thoughtfully remodeled with respect to the historical details of a cottage of its age. Quite cozy and sweet. The setting is simply perfect, easy access to the beach right in front, lots of flowers, even in early Spring. Highly recommended and we would love to return for a Summer stay!

This is our new "Christmas morning" house. For the last two years we have rented this cottage over the holidays for our daughter and her fiance. It is a quaint cottage right on the water. The owner, Diane is more than accomodating. When we arrived there was a wreath on the front door, a bottle of wine on the table and a Nespresso machine and coffee in the kitchen. The house is beautiful and has every amenity you could imagine. We highly recommend it!

This is a charming little summer cottage, steps from the beach with a beautiful view and a great location. While I imagine is perfect in the summer, it’s a little chilly in the winter and would benefit from a fireplace. We would definitely rent it again in the summer.

Pleasant Beach Cottage, perched on the shores of Rich Passage, is a dream come true. This charming vintage home, with tasteful updates that have made it cozy and comfortable, make it the perfect retreat. Add in nearby Fort Ward Park and it's many beautiful hiking trails half-a-mile south; and Lynwood Town Center, complete with an excellent bakery, movie theatre and numerous good restaurants (we specifically recommend Beach House) half-a-block north; and the result can only be described as heavenly. Just as important is that Diane could not be a better host. She is gracious and generous, responds quickly to questions or problems, and clearly cares deeply about the guests experience. Thank you for making the summer of 2018 one of our best ever. We are already planning our return trip.

Enjoyed the location right on the water. Did not enjoy the absolutely filthy upholstery both indoors and outdoors. It's hard to be comfortable when there is nowhere to sit. Additionally, the kitchen lacked the basic elements to prepare meals. Would not return.

Location near Lynwood is incredible. The location on the bay is just tremendous. Totally an outdoor place. You find yourself on the back porch, back yard, porch over the water or in the water a lot of the time. House is old, there were zero pots and pans, we had to buy our own from Costco. The clawfoot tub is cool looking but for those who shower it is a little difficult to navigate. The bottom is not flat, it curves down so you really have to think about balance. I actually told my sister to stay elsewhere because there was no way she could stand in the tub. The owner is very responsive and that was great. I probably could have told her about the pans for cooking but we just got our own. In the end we will likely go back. We have family on the island and now that I am used to the tub it should be just fine!!!

This is one of my most favorite places to visit when I come to Washington. The location is perfect with the nearby shopping, restaurants, and easy access to the ferry. We were able to walk on the BI/Seattle Ferry to enjoy a quick afternoon trip to Seattle, making back just in time for dinner at the house. We loved enjoying the beach, sunset, watching the ferry cross, and the backyard is perfect for playing catch and having dinner near the water. The home was clean & comfortable and fit our family of 5 perfectly. The owner is very accommodating & was great with her communications. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beach house! We hope to return soon.

I booked the cottage for a girls' weekend with two friends. I live on island, and knew the location would be perfect for us. The adorable house has been thoughtfully updated while retaining much of its historic character, and everything was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed morning coffee on the patio, watching otters frolic on the floating dock. My friend lounged happily in the hammock each afternoon, and we all loved the fire pit. Our only grumble was that we should have booked three nights instead of just two. Diane was responsive to messages, and graciously arranged for us to check in early. A stress-free, easygoing, happy experience from beginning to end. We are already planning our next visit!

Best vacation rental ever We loved all ten days, rain and shine. Gorgeous gardens and views, otters, bald eagles, water fowl, dramatic tides, a perfect place for kayaks and paddle boards. The house is clean, well decorated and private; the spacious patio area across the wide lawn, right on the water, has a fire pit, a big oval table and chairs. The beds and bedding are good quality and comfortable, and the kitchen is well arranged. We spent time just gazing at the water and forested peninsulas, and watched the ferries pass far enough to be a delight instead of a disturbance. It is so quiet, and yet just a short walk to the charming village of Lynnwood Center. We will definitely return.
