Quail Run is named after the families of quail whose habitat we share. It is a unique property that has been enjoyed by our family for 60 years. The recently renovated cottage has a great room with living area, kitchen and dining, and a bedroom that opens up to a private patio with hot tub. The great room opens up to a grape vine covered arbor and patio that transitions into a large lawn. Beyond the lawn is our orchard and past the orchard is the Freyer Creek bike path that leads to downtown Sonoma. The cottage is the only house on the two acre property.

We had a great time at the cottage! Our dog loved the yard and trail nearby, and it was close to the main square and so many wineries. The house was cool and comfortable even with temperatures hitting high 90s, and the kitchen was well stocked.

This place is lovely. My husband and I stayed here during our wedding weekend with our dog and it’s just the most perfect place. Hot tub is so relaxing, beautiful backdrop for photos and getting ready, so chill and easy! God I wish I could live there!

Wonderful property, would definitely stay again. Very easy walk into Sonoma plaza, nice pathway behind house. Outdoor green space is amazing! Loved the hot tub. Hosts were very friendly and responsive, and provided a very helpful “things to do” for local winery, restaurant, and activities recommendations. Would definitely recommend Repris winery and the in town hike they suggested, both fantastic! So many things to do on the plaza from cheese shops to chocolate to wine tastings, would definitely recommend a VRBO location like this close to the square to take advantage of all the things nearby.

We came to Sonoma for 5 days and stayed in this cute little home on 2 acres. It felt secluded/private which was exactly what we were looking for. The hot tub and wood stove were nice bonuses after a long day of drinking wine! The only bummer was that we didn't have the deer and vultures come visit (see someone else's previous review)! We would stay here again.

The property in Sonoma is very welcoming. We booked this particular house because of the quiet area and we could bring out dog. The description did not include the animals that lived on the property. There were deer on the first evening and the following evenings. We were surprised to find a vulture staring at us and flying above the yard. There was also some type of dead animal in the brush in the front that the vulture was hoarding. We tried to sit in the backyard, but the vulture kept flying over us as our dog was outside with us. Then there were the neighbors roofing one of their buildings started hammering and had their music on starting at 7 am and finishing at noon.Given the animals, including a dead animal I will not be returning.

We came to Sonoma for a celebration of life so this was the perfect place to unwind and relax. Our daughter and granddaughters live a couple of blocks away and this gave us an opportunity for extra family time. The cottage was clean and well supplied but the beautiful lot and yard was the best. Graham the owner was gracious and helpful. We would definitely return here for another visit.

My husband and I have just spent 3 weeks in the Quail Run Cottage. It was the best VRBO property we have ever stayed in and the best VRBO experience we have ever had. The cottage was even nicer than it looked in the photos. It was the perfect size for the two of us. It was extremely clean and had all the amenities we needed. And Susan and Graham were so kind, responsive and welcoming. We loved our stay! Thank you!!

Property was only a mile or so from Sonoma square but yet so secluded and quiet. Best of both worlds. Close to everything but sitting on 2 acres of a quiet peaceful lot. Fruit trees everywhere! There were deer snacking on all the fruit and we were able to sit there and watch. So gorgeous! You can walk or bike to the plaza via the beautiful path behind the home.

We booked the cottage for our anniversary trip with our dog. The location was perfect, the cottage was cozy and comfortable, and it was well-stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed the beautiful property and the cottage was a perfect size for our family. Quails run was exactly as described. Seamless check in got us in our vacation as soon as we arrived. On site it’s clean and has everything you need. It minutes to everything yet away from everything. When you relax outside it’s completely private. One of our favourites was sitting outside at night in the hot tub with the beautifully starry sky. Only noise was the crickets.

The Quail Run cottage was as beautiful as the pictures posted. The cottage was well appointed with up to date furnishings, kitchen and bathroom. While we enjoyed the cottage the outdoor space was really a treat for us. We used the hot tub and our toy poodle enjoyed exploring the garden. The arbor and trees provided enough shade to relax and enjoy the warm Sonoma weather.

This was a perfect little place for a weekend getaway in Sonoma. It was nice to be within walking distance of downtown. The hot tub and laundry were both pluses. The outdoor space was beautiful! The bed was very comfortable but the sofa bed was not. Otherwise everything was perfect!!!

Everything is as advertised. We enjoyed our brief stay. The cottage was as presented, had everything we needed for our stay, and the neighborhood was quiet. Our small dog enjoyed the large yard. We walked the beautiful path behind the cottage every morning. The cottage is close to wineries in the Russian River, Sonoma, and Napa areas and many top restaurants. We will be back!

Peaceful, Clean, and Comfortable

We had such a restful stay at the cottage. It was spotless, well cared for, and had everything we needed. It also stayed cool during some warm days of 90+ degrees. Was such a joy to arrive at this one on check-in day! It's tucked away on a large lot screened from neighbors by large trees and bamboo. This made it feel totally private but it was still close to amenities like grocery stores, trails, restaurants, wineries, etc. We were able to walk into town and to the Sonoma Overlook Trail for a light, scenic hike using the mostly shaded trail accessible from the back gate. The kitchen was well-equipped for light, daily meal prep (mostly salads and cheese boards for us). Besides outdoor dining and lounging, the patio also provided a tranquil, level space for yoga. The yard is mostly but not totally enclosed. It worked well for our dogs because they don't tend to run off, we don't let them outside unattended, and at night, we let them out on leash just in case. If your dog is a runner though, the yard might not work for off-leash time. This place was a highlight on our road trip. We hope to have an opportunity to stay here again the next time we're in Sonoma!

This little, historic cottage was perfect for my husband and me and our two dogs. The dogs loved the large yard and space to explore. Be aware that a large portion the yard is not fenced in - in case your dog is a runner. The wood stove is a nice cozy perk. The location is convenient for both the Sonoma and Napa areas. The hosts were very communicative and friendly.

The place was great! We loved the location (so nice that it's right next to a trail), and the house was very spacious and beautiful. The sleeper sofa was not very sleepable imo, and I am the type that could sleep just about anywhere lol. We ended up pulling the mattress to the floor for support (it was sagging quite heavily in the middle). The hair dryer also wouldn' t work longer than 30 seconds, so bring your own. Other than that, we were very happy and would be back in a heartbeat.

Quail Run was a wonderful spot to chill and close to everything Sonoma. Lovely spot with lots of space around the cottage and a bike/walking path out the back gate which came in handy for after dinner walks and morning walks with the dog. I have nothing but good things to say about this place except the sofa bed has seen better days. Not comfortable at all and the AC unit if it is hot outside is like a jet engine! If neither of those two things apply to your visit you will have a perfect little spot for your get away!
