Beautiful Beach House/Great Location

Very nice

There are many great things! We never stayed on LBI before so we didn't know the area well when choosing a house. We had a few requirements- minimum 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, pet friendly, parking for at least 3 vehicles. This house is all that and was as lovely as advertised! The kitchen is well stocked! It comes with beach chairs/umbrellas. The house is a nice location- it is a half block from the bay and about a block and half to beach. We found the beach experience to be slightly more troublesome than we would have liked but only slightly! The actual beach (once you leave the road) is a bit of a distance that you need to walk or you can take a shuttle. We found going onto the beach one block over (9th) was a shorter walk onto the beach and only a total 10 minute walk from the house. We really enjoyed our lighthouse visit and sunsets at the bay. We drove to Beach Haven for dinner one night and for shopping. Wally's has a vegan menu for anyone looking for vegan choices. (It's BYOB). My kids (in their 20's) expressed that they would probably like to be closer to more night life. For first timers, get reservations for stuff early whether it's dinner or water activities. Another thing I really liked about the house was the front deck area. We spent a lot of time hanging out there. The property owner was very accessible. We did have some difficulty working the TVs in the bedrooms so if you do, reach out to him! Would definitely recommend!

The property was clean, roomy, and walking distance to all of the charms in Barnegat Light.

Overall a great property that works very well for a multigenerational family gathering. ELEVATOR - I wish we could have gotten our 89-90 year old grandparents to USE the elevator provided more than a couple times! The short flights of stairs from level to level were not too much for them, until about Friday, when they hit a fatigue wall. We should have insisted they use it more! POOL AREA - It was surprisingly fun to have another swimming activity besides the beach, especially for the grandparents, who couldn't make it all the way out to the ocean. However, the pool area has no shade, and the patio heats up like a pizza oven, so while it's great for a little while, it has its limits, depending on your sun/heat tolerance. Some sort of shade option to lounge under would be a great addition. And for addition by subtraction, remove some furniture! There is SO much furniture out there, it's overcrowded and can be difficult to navigate around, especially for the older folks. The outdoor kitchen is a great addition to the pool area; we ended up grilling out there most nights. ROOFTOP - Don't miss the chance to see a beautiful sunrise and/or an equally beautiful sunset from the rooftop. Awesome. SUPER QUIET - Quiet, wonderful end of the island that we really enjoyed, with the exception of the (unavoidable) 6am garbage and recycling truck visits on 3 out of the 7 mornings, but hey, that is often the case at the shore, so it's hard to knock it for that. LIVING AREA - Well-appointed, but again, a little overcrowded in the corners with plants, tables, lamps, etc., that clutter the look, but otherwise, pleasant. One change I would suggest, which probably no one except me would do, is moving the big flatscreen tv to the corner so it is not blocking the only sliver of ocean view there is in the room. IMO we're here for the ocean; it's a shame to block it, even if a sliver, but I'm not a big tv person, especially at the shore. KITCHEN - No issues, except the Cuisinart coffeemaker didn't work. Thankfully Mr. Coffee filled in nicely. Adequate range of pots, dishes, and utensils; we didn't find any shortcomings. BEDROOMS - All comfortable beds, quiet rooms, range of pillow options. FYI, you have to make and strip all the beds and deal with all the (bath and beach) towel distribution & collection. I haven't been to the shore in 6+ years, so maybe this is the case everywhere now, post pandemic, but be prepared as it takes a good deal of time on both ends.
