This second floor, luxurious oceanfront condo at the Kihei Surfside Resort is located on the sought after ocean side of the elevator. It has a great ocean view from the kitchen, living room, dining area and lanai. It is a one bedroom, one bath unit (504 sq ft). It has been completely remodeled, and is great in every way!
The entire unit has porcelain flooring. All the cabinetry, which is consistent throughout the unit, was custom made and imported from Canada. It is solid maple, and all counters and vanities are topped with a beautiful, golden colored granite. All lighting in all rooms is controlled by dimmer switches.
The gourmet kitchen is great! It is fully equipped with stainless steel Professional Series appliances, including side by side fridge/freezer with water and ice, flat top stove with five burners and warming drawer, quiet dishwasher, multi function microwave oven, garbage disposer and a variety of small appliances including coffee maker, coffee grinder, four slice toaster, blender, crock pot, rice maker and hand mixer. There is also a large selection of higher end pots and pans, baking pans, spice rack and ample matching dishes, glasses and cutlery. The "corner sink design allows for maximum efficiency and working space. The island has a four foot eating ledge with two barstools.
The living room has a queen size sofa-bed with matching large comfy armchair with ottoman. There is also a large 40" SMART flat screen LCD HD TV, DVD player and a multi speed ceiling fan.
The dining area has a round rattan glass table with 4 matching tropical armchairs.
The private lanai has a bistro table with two swivel tilting bistro chairs - a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or a romantic oceanfront dinner!
The entry hall is tiled, with a built in, granite topped buffet with cabinets and a desk area.
The bedroom has a Sealy Posturepedic pillow top king-sized bed, multi speed ceiling fan, Hawaiian style rattan furniture, plantation shutters, oversized closet, digital security safe and a wall mounted 32" flat screen LCD TV.
The bathroom has a full size, walk in shower with a Pulse shower spa system, including rain head, hand held wand/massager and six body sprays. There is an over height vanity with granite countertop and Kohler toilet.
This condo is fully equipped with fresh linens and towels, hair dryer, iron/ironing board. All units have beach towels and a cooler. Umbrellas and snorkel gear are not supplied, but are often left behind in the units by other guests – no guarantees. The Kihei Surfside office loans out beach chairs free of charge during regular business hours - Monday to Saturday. Office is closed Sundays and Holidays.
The unit has free, wireless high speed internet and free long distance calling to the United States and Canada. It is also equipped with a state of the art Oracode door lock, whereby each guest is issued a unique code which controls the door only during their stay. No keys!
Rates for one bedroom units are for up to 2 people. 3rd and 4th persons in the unit are $25/nt for adults and $15/nt for youths 17 and under.
Kihei Surfside Resort is located at 2936 S. Kihei Road, South Kihei at the entrance of beautiful Wailea. This is the desert part of Maui, where the sun shines more than any other part of the island. The Kihei Surfside Resort consists of an absolute oceanfront concrete building of 6 floors and 84 deluxe units with an elevator. There is free parking on site. The resort is a twenty-five minute drive from the Kahului Airport (OGG). Rental cars are available at the airport or in Kihei town. There are also taxis available at the airport (about $50), a shuttle bus and public transportation.
Virtually all of the properties and resorts in Kihei are either located right on busy S. Kihei Rd., or if they are set back from the road - are across from the street from the ocean. One unique feature of the Kihei Surfside is that it is located at the quiet end of S. Kihei Road, AND is set back 300 feet from S. Kihei Road AND is located right on the ocean! Because it is hard to see from the road, many first time Surfside guests say that even though they have visited Kihei many times, they had never seen the resort!
Another unique feature of the property is that we have a 2 acre, immaculately kept oceanfront lawn area with dozens of loungers, with a heated swimming pool and deluxe barbeque facilities. In season, there are daily whale sightings from both the grounds and lanais. In fact, the Pacific Whale Foundation conducts their annual whale count from our property. The building is located at the north end of Keawakapu Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on Maui(voted Maui's most romantic), where you can walk for miles past some of the most expensive oceanfront homes on the island and the luxurious hotels of Wailea.

We had an amazing stay at this property. Booking was seamless, with prompt and clear communication from the host. Check-in was easy. Ample parking. The suite had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The grounds are lovely, and the view is incredible! We really liked staying oceanside of S Kihei road and steps away from the beach. I would have no hesitation booking this property again.

We had a wonderful stay. The condo was just right for me and my husband. It was well furnished and had all the supplies we would for a fun trip, including snorkels and gear. The view was fantastic and we enjoyed our time on the lanai. The bed in the room does need to be replaced. It sagged in spots and my husband found it difficult to get comfortable. Overall, it was lovely and we enjoyed our time there very much.

Great spot. Wonderful to have access to chairs for the beach. Walking distance from a lovely area of beach that we enjoyed greatly. Close drive to good food and drinks. Only negative was the temperature - wish there was A/C!

Our stay at 206 was great! The condo was exactly as described and Larry was very flexible and accommodating with my last minute booking request. The condo itself has everything needed and then some. And the star of the show of course is the location (right on the ocean) and the sunset views. The whole property is very well maintained by the staff. They clean everything outside (pool, grills, deck, etc) every morning. We were a little worried about there being no air conditioning, but it was better than I was expecting. The only time we found it too warm for comfort was the first evening because the condo had been shut up all day (windows closed). The rest of the days we were there, there was plenty of airflow through the condo from the ocean breeze. Just open all of the windows and the sliding patio door. There were two portable fans in the bedroom which did the job at night.
The kitchen is reasonably well stocked (could use a couple of new wine glasses as there were only two). We cooked breakfast each morning and usually grilled outside in the evening. The condo complex is very sociable and we met a number of people while either grilling or watching the sunset. And speaking of the sunset, that is the star of the show. Most people come down to the lawn by the sea to watch it every evening. It's quite the event.
While the condo can technically sleep four, we found it perfect for the two of us. I think it would be a bit cramped for four. It is ideal for a couple.
I would definitely stay here again!
