Mountain High is an ideal mountain cabin, high up in the Rockies! Located 25 miles West of Salida in the sleepy bedroom community of Monarch, CO, home to mountain cabins and chalets for those wanting to vacation in the high country, this is the home for both relaxation and outdoor fun. Skiing and riding at Monarch Mountain's all natural snow is minutes away, as is the Crest Trail for world class mountain biking.

At Mountain High you're just a five minute drive from the all-natural powder of Monarch Mountain and only 25 minutes from historic downtown Salida. World-class mountain biking on the Crest Trail and miles of cross country skiing and hiking trails are minutes away as well.
All Pinon homes are "vacation ready" with a fully appointed kitchen, towels and linens. Hand, dish and shower soaps are provided, as well as toilet paper, trash bags, salt and pepper and coffee filters. Bring your own laundry detergent, paper napkins and toiletries.
Pinon Vacation Rentals provides guest support from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 pm.

Reservations may be canceled more than 30 days prior to check-in with full refund minus a $125 Cancellation fee or a $75 Change fee if applicable. No refunds will be issued after this cut-off date for any reason. No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions.**

Great cabin that was dog friendly! Large back deck and windows to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery. Very comfortable accommodations, we all slept very well. Kitchen well stocked with utensils and appliances. Great washer dryer too! Host was kind and quick to respond to any questions. We brought our puppers, she liked being out on the deck, we even saw a cute bat flying around! Great place to enjoy nature. We walked her along the main road for excersize, and noticed a few off leash dogs during our stay at the other homes. Our pup is not dog friendly so that was a concern for us, but no incidents occurred and everyone left safe and happy! Main town was only a short drive away. Would recommend!

This was a great home base for us as we explored nearby Salida. The view off the back deck was serene, and we loved hearing the creek down below. We all slept with the windows open and that creek was our white noise! We had a challenge when checking in because the lock box was not where the instructions said it would be. Also, the cabin's only bathroom is on the "second" level across from the bedroom with the smaller bed. If you stay in the room with the queen bed, you'll have to climb the stairs if you're up in the night for the bathroom. An agency manages this property, so the level and type of communication is not what I see when I'm communicating directly with an owner.

Place was great but altitude was very high and it was in a mountain ghost town. Secluded but not secluded, nothing to do within an hour away.
