About this house rental
This charming three bedroom is a great getaway with lots of antiques and country style. Located in walking distance from all the downtown conveniences and also has easy access to multiple trail systems. Bedrooms have one queen in one room, A queen in the other room and the last bedroom has a queen and a twin. For a total of four beds. House has a full kitchen and lots of space for guests. Leadville is not only home to enthusiastic snow bikers, it's also famous for its way-beyond-marathon races. The Silver Rush 50 Run is high-altitude madness: "Take on 50 miles of extreme territory that starts at 10,200 feet and reaches 12,000 feet four times." The best part? It prepares runners "for the pinnacle Leadville 100". Yes, that's a 100 mile-run in the high Rockies.Leadville's population balloons during these extreme running events. But at other times of the year, families can enjoy an uncrowded visit in this totally cool little town, that's the highest incorporated city in the U.S.
Leadville was a mining boom-town and is still graced with vintage buildings. Families who visit in winter can ski and board at the very affordable nearby Ski Cooper ski resort. There is a $25 pet fee.In the event of inclement weather (ex: heavy snow, etc.) we will not be able to help with any vehicle issues. We recommend using 4-wheel and All Wheel drive vehicles to get to the property during these times. This property is city street parking. The location will meet all your needs. License # 001380

Cozy place! Lots of space! A little challenging with one bathroom and no dryer, but would totally go back! I fell n love with it. Could use a few more items in the kitchen for those folks that would rather cook than eat out.

Had a reservation over a year in advance and they cancelled on us without warning 2 weeks out from the mtb race. They claimed it was VRBOs fault even though VRBO said it was cancelled by the host. Then they wouldn't even answer the phone or return voicemails. Use caution if booking with these people.

Went to run Silver Rush. You could walk to the start line. Oven did not work though.

Not a good place to stay at all. AVOID. Was listed as an “antique” home and fenced yard. The fence only surrounded the front and side of the property, the back of the house had no fencing so it wasn’t enclosed. The two front gates didn’t actually latch either, not that it mattered as it wasn’t an enclosed yard anyways. The grass was up to our knees. The front door was difficult to open, the screen door didn’t latch properly and if it did it took multiple tries to reopen it. The inside of the house was not only old and outdated but poorly taken care of. The furniture was gross and needs replacing. There was a terrible smell in the kitchen/bathroom area, like sewage backup or something rotten. The stove was gross, didn’t want to touch it. Was not positive with how clean the place really was. It smelled like an ancient house. There were 2 floors which we were not aware of, the second floor I didn’t even go up as the staircase was extremely steep. The bathroom was dark and weird. The whole setup of the house was quite odd. The floors were uneven and creaky. The carpet had stains all over it. I wasn’t confident in the cleanliness of the place. Ended up walking out and made merges arrangements for the evening elsewhere. Refused to stay in the house. The house looked and felt abandoned, was as if no one could be bothered to maintain the property. Considering it is a rental, you would think you would at least want to make it look presentable. I’m out of characters so that’s all.

Dated but comfortable.Kitchen utensils and pans limited.Kitchen sink difficult to access.

Typical old house in a mountain town. No frills, but slept 5 adults comfortably. Fully functioning kitchen. Communication with the host was easy. Cute and clean. No wifi didn't really affect us, cell service was just fine.

So-so. Lots of outlets of which very few worked. No tv reception, no Wi-Fi.

There was plenty of space for our pre-teen kids to run around and play. The stairs are pretty steep so I would be cautious using them, I also wouldn’t wear socks going down them. The house was very accommodating for our family.

We stayed here to walk the main street and visit friends in the area. The house was on the older side but everything worked and they left the heat on for us when we got there which was amazing as we got there late and right in the middle of a storm!

House is older but clean and well-kept. It reminded my of my grandparents farmhouse built in the 1800s. Beds were comfy and the heater was able to keep the house warm on a cold night - just be sure to keep bedroom doors open.Plenty of plates, glasses and silverware, but the cookware is lacking. We brought our own pans and cooking utensils and were able to make breakfasts and dinners no problem. We would definitely stay again.

Needed a place to lay our heads the night before skiing. Property description is accurate; we didn't have issues with anything. Easy to find, Short drive up to Ski Cooper.

We had a very fun stay. Property is as described. Cool 1800s ranch house with all the need '50s '60s and '70s decor. It was clean and comfortable for the price. We will be back.

Property is a little outdated and has no WiFi but for the price and location it's a good option

This property does not have Wifi, which is something I never though to check with an online rental. The house was very clean, however the furniture is extremely dated and badly needs updating. The chairs and couch are not comfortable, and as there was no wifi we were left to watch an assortment of old DVDs. If you didn't need to cook or spend time here, the location and access are great. If you are looking to relax with a family this is not your spot. Also no dishwasher, (had to dry with a bathtowel!), which is not a dealbreaker but it was not well supplied.

Great locations. A couple a issues we saw. We have small children 4-2 so the steep stairs where an issue as well as the amount of outlets all over this house. The tub did not drain well so there was not bathing for this family. 7 windows were open when we arrive and it was 19 degrees outside. Once all window were shut we were able to get the place warm enough to enjoy. The provided space heaters were sketchy. Only one board game and old DVDs for in house entertainment. All in all, we enjoyed our stay but would say this is not a small kid friendly home. It worked for our first family ski trip. I would stay there again but it would need to be a guys weekend.

Our Leadville stay was nice. The house was nice. The kitchen was clean and functional. The location is close to everything. Downtown is within walking distance and the highest brewery in American is a few blocks away.

Property is older which we knew and stayed there last year which we enjoyed and knew its an older property with corks but it seems to have gone down hill. Couch has holes with no padding in the back and beds where a bit to be desired but I can deal with the aesthetics. We had no hot water for almost 24 hours was told that maintenance had come by Friday evening while out for dinner which I was never informed when he would be coming to fix the hot water heater and they would come back Saturday (questioning the cleanest of the VRBO with no hot water from the time we got there) I was also informed of this information only after reaching out to the host about not having toilet paper that evening which she responded to me at 3:00 am on Saturday morning. We had a very nice maintenance guy who could not fix it but made sure a plumber came within an hour to fix it. Ran out of toilet paper at 10:00pm the first night we where there and had to run to the store to get some and no paper towels. Was told by host they would drop some by on Saturday morning and nobody showed. The oven felt hot the whole time like it was running but everything said off on the oven so not sure why it was heating up the kitchen when it was supposedly off so I was scared to even use it. This is the second time staying here and the last unless things improve and maintenance is done on this home.

Property is not maintained. Grass was 2 ft tall. No parking. You have to walk through rocky ditch to enter house. Sheets were dirty and double sheets on queen beds. Found dirty sock in one bed. Black mold on shower curtain. Listing wasn't as described on VRBO.
Washing machine hose drains into kitchen sink. Dusty and dirty!! This house is not VRBO worthy.

Kept us warm, safe and dry. Pay attention to listing because it has a TV but no Internet and no cable. It has a washer, but no dryer. But perfect for two old farts and three grandchildren.

We stayed in this VRBO in Leadville for one night. It was pleasant and served its purpose. This house was built in 1888 according to Zillow, and that's pretty cool. It's rather large for in town in Leadville (we visit often) and it was very spacious.
There is no WiFi, which was a little disappointing - even though it does say that in the listing, I never thought to look, because these days, WiFi is generally a given. It was fine though, since we were only there one night - but since I work online/remotely, it might have been an issue during a longer stay.
The home was very clean, which was great! The furniture is older but that's certainly part of the charm. It's all clean and comfortable.
There is only one heater (plus some space heaters) in the middle of the main level. We cranked it up pretty high though - on the suggestion of the host - and it really did actually heat the entire house pretty well. I was afraid we'd be cold upstairs, but it was fine. I slept great!
Stairs to upstairs are rather steep but there is a railing - just be careful. Again, it's an old house! There weren't a whole lot of dishes either, I noticed, but we didn't cook during our stay so that wasn't a big deal for us.
This is on a quiet street in a quiet part of Leadville but is close to everything. Easy parking. Lovely historic property with a lot of unique charm. I'd stay there again! I'd recommend it, just know that there are some quirks, but nothing terrible at all. I recommend it!

The house is rundown and old. It was clean though. The “grass” weeds, in the yard was three feet tall. Asked to have it mowed and the management company said they would try to have their guy come out. Then they replied he needed access to the electricity in the house because he only had an electric weed eater. Then the next day the guy could not come cause he went to the hospital. (Hope he’s ok.) There is no internet or TV, cable availability.

The house was advertised. We appreciated no WiFi and stayed off the electronics. Lisa the host was super fast to respond when we had a question. And easy to walk to downtown Leadville from the house

Our stay was fine, except for the neighbor, who obviously has an issue with being next to a BnB property. The listing should include something about the parking situation and maybe there wouldn’t have been an issue. Whatever you do, DO NOT park anywhere in the giant driveway on the right side of the house. It’s the neighbor’s and he won’t ask you to move himself, but instead will call the property manager to tell on you.
My cousin got there before us and parked in a spot on the side of the house because the front parking wasn’t as easy to unload from. My cousin parked there briefly and within minutes I was getting calls and texts from the property manager. The neighbor lied to her saying he couldn’t get out for work. He had plenty of space to get by. Either way, my cousin moved his truck right away, we weren’t trying to be any trouble.
Here’s the kicker. It snowed all night and I’d say we got about 8”. My husband went out to shovel us out and the neighbor was plowing his giant driveway. My husband waved at him and he glared back and continued pushing snow towards the front of the house where we were parked. We got back from snowboarding all day, and the neighbor had made a giant pile of snow right in the spot my cousin had parked before! He pushed it so far in the front of the house that we had to shovel a new path on the sidewalk.
This property is what it is, not terrible I guess for prices these days. But I wouldn’t stay here again because of the jerk neighbor.

Cute & quaint!! This house was perfect for me & my dogs I enjoyed only having DVD’s to watch! There was no wi-ifi (as advertised) and it was nice to just relax & disconnect from the fast & furious pace. Lisa was so helpful & was prompt when I had a question!!! The street is very quiet also!!!

Perfect for a weekend away to unplug and go skiing. Very charming and traditional property in Leadville. The host was quick to respond to questions.

This place was just like staying at my grandparents’ when I was a kid….
Even some of the same items. The house layout isnt very functional as it’s easy to see what was just added on over the years. The water pressure and heater were good and there were numerous places for a family to sleep. It was nice to have our family dog along but the fence didn’t fully enclose the yard so we couldn’t just let him out. The check in and out were easy and the host was responsive to an issue that occurred during our stay. It was a great location for town services and nearby skiing. Overall, a good value.

We loved this rental. It was clean and comfortable. The house has a retro look that we really liked. Reminded us of our grandparents' house when we were kids.
