Surrounded by rolling meadows and woodlands, the farm is quiet and wonderfully isolated yet close to many of the attractions that make Virginia a desirable place to visit. Stay on the farm and enjoy hiking, canoeing/kayaking on the James River; use the farm as base to explore historic Scottsville, University of Virginia, the Appalachian Trail, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia wine country or delve into America's history at Revolutionary and Civil War battle sites. The homes of three early American presidents, Jefferson, Monroe and Madison, are within an easy hour's drive.

The host, Diana was great regarding communication prior to our stay, particularly on the day of our arrival, as well as all my questions regarding the property, the amenities or recommendations where to shop for food/groceries.

The property was exactly as described. It was fully stocked with bedroom and bathroom linens. Kitchen had convenient small appliances and dishes. One thing to be aware of is noise travels VERY easily in the house. I coukd hear every word from the room above ne in normal conversation and one bedroon is above the dinig area and can hear everything on main floor. This will only impact you of you have a large group abd use every bedroom. Beautiful serene area. Very responsive hosts and loved the house!

Amazing property filled with rustic farmhouse charm in every room. We especially enjoyed the solitude and being able to let our dogs run around care free and swim in the beautiful pond. It was so quiet and peaceful.

Just came back from a great weekend. The house was better than we expected. We had some snow the day before we left so everything looked amazing. Tom had plowed the driveway up to the house, so it was easy getting back there. The house itself was very clean, comfortable and cozy. We didn't have any cell signal, but the house has satellite TV and internet. We weren't streaming movies, but were able to listen to Spotify and check messages and the weather. We spent most of the time sitting around the fireplace which we kept going during the day. The kitchen was well appointed and has some basic spices and oils/vinegars, but was missing coffee and sugar, not an issue because we always bring our own and the grocery store is about 10 minutes away. The rooms were very comfortable and the entire cabin was very quiet. My only complaint is the upstairs floor is exposed below, so you can easily hear anyone walking around and any noise comes straight through. I could hear the person in the room above me easily, every word they said and every sniffle and grunt like they were in the room with us.
