About this cabin rental

Grandma's house is approximately 800 square feet. It has a back bedroom with a queen size bed and its own back door. The adjacent sleeping area has 2 twin beds.. The large living area contains a dining table, 2 couches and a queen size bed and tv. The kitchen is equipped with all kinds of dishes and cooking utensils, and a propane barbecue grill is available for outside cooking. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination and towels and linens are provided. There is a screened in porch on the front of the older part of the house which is shaded by two huge spruce trees. It is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal or just relax and listen to the creek babble by. Deer and turkey visit the yard often and can be viewed from any window in the house. Adjacent to the house is what we call the bunkhouse. It has one side that was once a one car garage. It is simply used for storage. The other side is mostly being used for storage and has extra beds just in case the need arises. The property has two sheds used primarily for horses, but could offer motorcycle protection as well.
This is a non-smoking home. Friends are welcome to smoke outside. Pets are considered on a case by case basis, and must be approved by owner and/or manager. Pet fee is determined by type and number of pets. It could be less or more than $75.
This home has been recently renovated. While the basic floor plan remains the same, the flooring, wall and ceilings surfaces are all new. Grandma's house is sporting all new roof, windows, blinds, paneling, vinyl and laminate flooring and more. The bathroom has been enlarged and now includes a full size washer and dryer. The little house was already adorably quaint. We hope you will find it even more delightful now. Grandma’s House is available for longer stays November thru April. Send inquiry using unbooked dates to contact host.

Quiet country cabin close to town. Lots of wildlife in a beautiful setting.

We had a great stay at Grandmas House. Close enough to town but yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. All of our needs were met, and we really enjoyed the screened in porch. We had deer and turkeys practically every morning and evening. We had great communication with the owner and the caretaker. We loved it and would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was fine. Older building, but cute and functional. Need to update photos of cabin. Plenty of wildlife, like deer in the yard every day.

This property is relatively convenient for accessing the Black Hills motorized trails, and the outdoor space is beautiful, broad, and quiet, with early morning visits from deer and turkey. The groundskeeper was also very kind and provided a hose so I could wash my dirt bike — a thoughtful touch.Unfortunately, the home does suffer from some significant drawbacks. Others have mentioned it — the odor. It is real, it is persistent, and it is insidious. To combat this, I recommend at least three scented plugins and three scented candles running at all times without interruption. In addition, the place is plagued by flying and crawling pests, the Wi-Fi is slow (though usable), the single window-unit AC might work if you close the kitchen door and only occupy the living/sleeping area, but it is underpowered for cooling the entire space, and the place desperately needs a deep clean (don’t dare a glance into the slotted vents). If you only care about proximity to the trails and seclusion, this spot is convenient. But if you’re looking for a comfortable, clean stay with reliable amenities, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
