About this cottage rental
UPDATE: There are NO tasting room fees for our guests (pass required) at four local, family-owned wineries in Kenwood: Ty Caton Vineyards, Muscardini Cellars, Loxton Cellars, and Deerfield Ranch.
The Acorn Cottage is located approximately one hour north of San Francisco on scenic Highway 12. Your hosts, Bev and Jerry Stemach, invite you to indulge yourself in this charming vacation rental nestled among grapevines, olive trees, and ancient oaks in the heart of the Sonoma wine valley.
The cottage is generously appointed. Enjoy a private hot tub and patio, a bottle of petit verdot made from our grapes, breakfast provisions, and other delightful additions.
If you are inclined to explore, an array of exciting experiences are minutes away: hiking in local State parks or along coastal beaches, biking on backroads, dining in restaurants in Kenwood, Glen Ellen, and Sonoma, and wine tasting throughout Sonoma County's 13 viticulture regions. Napa Valley is just over the hill.

Words cannot describe how special Jerry and Bev made us feel. Right from the beginning upon them greeting us we knew that our stay was going to be an exceptional one.Starting with the amenities which included a fully stocked refrigerator of water, juice, beer, yogurt, milk, creamer, fruit, and cheese. There was coffee, muffins, banana bread, and crackers...and on top of that some wine (port) for us beside our bed. Then there was a lovely hot tub amidst the beautiful manicured grounds and vineyard (to which they gave us free access to the 4 acres on the property). It was so private that they said the hot tub was bathing suit optionalOn top of this they provide free passes to 2 state parks in the area, as well as free tastings at 4 of the local wineries. But the real value of our stay was their hospitality, which made our stay more like the combination of a bed & breakfast and a VRBO.This is a wonderful hidden gem in a beautiful setting with wonderful accommodations and extraordinary hosts. We're encouraging all of our friends to visit our new found family as we can't wait to go back.

Beverly and Jerry are the consummate hosts and the Acorn House is pretty much the nicest place we have stayed in either valley. Intimate yet spacious - with every detail attended to. Tops!

This trip was to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We have stayed in many VRBO's. The Acorn Cottage tops them all. The property was better than the pictures or descriptions. The cottage had everything you need, down to the robes and flip flops for the walking a few steps from the deck to the private hot tub. As a bonus Bev and Jerry have stocked it with coffee, cream, cereal, fresh fruit, etc etc. Oh, and fresh homemade banana nut bread. Perfect for a light breakfast on the deck overlooking the grounds. And let me tell you about the grounds. OMG, we so enjoyed walking around just enjoying the beauty. I think the oak tree you look at from the deck is probably the most spectacular tree I have ever seen. I know that sounds a bit much, but that is how I felt every time I marveled at its beauty. Last but not least, Bev and Jerry, are such awesome host. The wine and plethora of meats and cheeses we share with them was over the top. But the best part was getting to know them over a "few" glasses of wine. We are making plans for our next visit. One last thing - definitely take advantage of all the area suggestions that Bev and Jerry share.
