STONEWOOD GUEST HOUSE is a luxury private guest house on a gated estate. It is a completely separate house and has a private entrance. It's newly remodeled with high-end finishes & furnishings, garage & parking. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, & private patio w/table, lounge chairs, fountain, & grill. No detail has been left out including a fully stocked gourmet kitchen, dishwasher, front loading washer & dryer, fireplace, flat screen tv's with premium cable in the living room and both bedrooms, luxurious linens (bedding & towels), plenty of closet space with hangers, ceiling fans, blue tooth speakers, alarm clock with sleep sound machine, hair dryers, dedicated work space with color printer/scanner/ paper/toner & basic office supplies, wireless internet, original artwork, and basic amenities (shampoo/ conditioner, shower gel, q-tips, cotton balls, bathroom tissue, facial tissues, laundry detergent, dish detergent, fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, first aid kit, etc.). The main house has several wooded acres, a pool, & pond with fish and turtles.
Woodside is a beautiful upscale neighborhood known for its horses and bicycling (road & mountain). The house is located in the heart of Woodside with easy freeway access, it's in close commutable distance to all airports (SFO, SJC, & OAK), San Francisco, San Jose, and the coast. Its just, minutes from Stanford, Redwood City, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, San Carlos, & Mountain View.

This is a return visit, having initially stayed for 6 weeks and then another week earlier in the summerWhat a lovely, private, woodsy cottage, just about a mile from downtown Woodside. It's on a large property shared with a beautiful main residence and yard, with its own driveway and separate garage. The owners were very responsive and shared their gorgeous backyard pool area, which during our visit was occupied by a new family of ducks! (We did not utilize the pool as we were visiting other family in the area).The cottage backyard area is private with a nice table, umbrella, lounge chairs, and grill, and the kitchen was well equipped. It was good to have both A/C and heat during our stay, including a nice gas fireplace downstairs that provided ambience as well as a bit of warmth.The nearby downtown Woodside area is charming with an excellent market, bakery and several good restaurants. The surrounding area has a very rural/equestrian feel, making for nice neighborhood walks. Canada college (about 1/4 mile) has an outstanding workout facility that is open to the public to join if you plan an extended stay, and the property is close to the amazing Filoli gardens as well.

The cottage is well furnished, with an exceptionally well- equipped kitchen. The hosts were quick to deal with any issue, friendly, but not intrusive.
We stayed for isolated recuperation after my husband’s cancer treatment at Stanford Medical Center. This was a spacious, calm, luxury accommodation for such a purpose. Easy access to Stanford, excellent grocers and pharmacy resources.
For our purposes, the single staircase to the bedroom was not a problem. High quality appliances eased our unusual amount of home cooking and laundry, and would certainly be appreciated by holiday renters as well.
There is a small, but noticeable, amount of road noise. We found it nicely offset by birdsong, and the occasional owl hooting symphony.
This is a special place we highly recommend.
