About this house rental
Just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta lies the beautiful and secluded Lake Jackson. Come enjoy the privacy and serenity of your home away from home with this ultimate family getaway! The estate is the perfect place for your family! Bask in the tranquility on the lake and the privacy of the 5-acre property offering a spectacular view of the lake. This family retreat has 2 buildings, The Main Lodge and the Cottage. This Lake Retreat can accommodate 34 adults and kids. Take in the scenery while lounging on a wrap-around deck overlooking beautiful Lake Jackson. The lower deck features a spacious hot tub with a great view of the pool and lake as well as access to the outdoor shower.
Enjoy the great collection of kitchen appliances including a coffee maker, mixer, blender, and waffle maker. Outdoors, there is a large grill and Green Egg. You’ll find everything you need in this fully stocked kitchen, including cooking utensils, appliances, everyday china, and flatware. You can cook for 2 or 40 in this spacious kitchen and may dine family style at the long oak table in the dining room with seating for up to 20. There is plenty of seating along the deck and screen porch for meals outside.
When it’s time for sleep after a day on the lake or lounging by the pool, you’ll find the rest you need in a giant king size bed in each bedroom of the Main Lodge. The Main Lodge features 2 bedrooms on the first level and 3 bedrooms on the second level. There is also a futon and sleeper sofa in the loft and 3 bunk beds in the basement that feature double beds on the bottom and singles on the top. The basement also holds lots of fun with a billiard pool table and a soda bar.
The Cottage features 3 bedrooms. The first bedrooms features a queen bed, the Master bedroom has a king bed, the third bedroom has 2 bunk beds that have double beds on the bottom and singles on the top, the living room has a sleeper sofa. The Cottage also consists of a dining area and fully stocked kitchen, including a large deck with seating overlooking the lake.
WiFi is available throughout both houses so you don’t have to worry about being disconnected. Enjoy the HD TV, DirectTV and DVD player. A washer and dryer are located in the Main Lodge for your convenience.
Let’s play! This property features a large field to be used for a number of activities like Frisbee, football, kickball, or soccer. Just ahead is a tennis court and basketball hoop with a covered seating area for family and friends to cheer you on. Relax by the pool or jump in to start a game of pool volleyball! Get freshened up in the outdoor shower. Then, enjoy the fire pit at the lake’s edge for a night of s’mores and family fun.
Three docks come with this property to accommodate boating, swimming, fishing, and tanning. Boat and jet ski rentals are available at an offsite location or you can bring your own and launch with the boat ramp conveniently located on the property. The covered dock offers boat parking for two and parking for two jet skis.
Spend the day on the lake skiing, knee boarding, wake boarding, and tubing. Kids and adult life jacks are located in the boathouse as well as Tubes and skis. For a slow and relaxing ride take pontoon boat up the lake or river for a peaceful outing or for a more intense ride a fast Air Boat ride up the river. This property is close to the Golf Course or a short trip to ride horses. There is plenty of fun for the whole family, small kids to Grand Mother can enjoy Jackson lake and the beautiful outdoors.

The house fit our needs as a family of 22. The deck for both properties are amazing

Our family gathering included 19 adults and 8 children ages 5 & under. Our parents once had a home on Lake Jackson, so this was a trip of memories for all of us. This home provided ample gathering space inside, and the pool proved a great place for outside gathering. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. The kitchen had plenty of space for cooking and most of the utensils we needed. We noted several previous guests had suggested we bring our own sharp knives and disposable dining utensils which was helpful, and they were needed. Our host, Ronnie, was great to offer suggestions for boat rentals and quick to respond to questions about the homes. When the alarm on an owner's closet began to beep, he came right away to make the repair so we were not inconvenienced. The home has been loved and used well and could use some refreshing, as others have mentioned. The screen porch had a lot of cobwebs and needed a good dusting. But the space for being together more than made up for the shortcomings. Air conditioning worked GREAT! We had plenty of hot water. And the views of the lake were fabulous. We are grateful that Ronnie and his family have made their home available for others to share.

Wonderful family time! Large cabin (home) on a lake w/ nice pool/hot tub. Cute second home stairs away.
Concern: # of bathrooms.
Main house: 1st floor: full bath
2nd floor: 1 bathroom w/ shower; shower w/sink; shower & sink only; sink & toilet only.
Little house: 1 bath w/shower
(Total: 4 FULL bathrooms)
PLUS: Outdoor camp shower house/w 2 shower heads (worked great for littles & teens)
Result: NO bathroom problems for us!
In talking to the neighbors we were told of the great damage of tornados. We could see progress in repairs. Nice screened in porch.
Tennis/basketball courts: very fun & in good shape.
Some new decking, new hot tub cover.
We rented a pontoon for two days; loved our lake time. Clean & spacious bedrooms at reasonable price in comparison to other houses we have rented over the years.
AC worked great in the Georgia heat.
Ronnie responded to our requests & worked to make our stay comfortable. (We needed more chairs as we all wanted to sit around the dinning room table & he had them there within an hour.)
As to any bugs? -- It is Georgia - in July - on a lake. Think cabin.
Bring: games, pool toys, extra towels (1 set/guest supplied), hair dryer. Only kitchen item we needed was a hand mixer, otherwise we found kitchen stocked enough to fix homemade dinners for 26 each night.
Kroger delivered groceries.
Be aware: Loft: 2 twin beds up steep ladder. Limited privacy.
Roomy, private, nature -- loved our family time together.

The house is big, accommodated about 25 of us, is in need of lots of TLC. Pictures outdated. Finding the property was difficult, we arrived at night and it was dark and difficult to find if you arrive late. However, the host was responsive with helping us find it. Getting into the home was easy, host was available to answer questions.
The home could use an intense cleaning. The floors were very dirty making our feet black, you could see the dust in every room. No mop. We found lots of items from previous renters in the couches, even someone's garter. There were holes in the walls from door knobs, the beds were very uncomfortable and in both homes they were all sinking in. Lots of knobs and items either missing or broken. Two TVs in the main house and you had to use the same remotes for each which was annoying. Kitchen stocked.
In other reviews, I saw there were issues with the bathroom in the basement. We were never told that the bathroom was no longer usable, it was gutted out so we were surprised to see when we got there that we were short a bathroom. The listing states there's wifi in the small house but we were then told it did not have wifi. Wifi overall was horrible. The hot tub was not the cleanest, used by the kids. The docks were very unsafe, it looks like a hurricane or something tore them down but we were also not informed of this prior to our stay.
The home is very spacious, with some TLC it could really be a great property. Stores close by, Walmart 30 mins.
