About this house rental
The house sleeps 8 in 3 queen sized beds and one full size futon. It has 2 bathrooms and an awesome view. In the front yard there is a softball park, complete with teeter-totters, slide, swings and fire pit. The house has hardwood floors and is pet friendly. The small town of Whalan is located just 4 miles east of Lanesboro. You can walk, drive, swim, kayak, bike, or canoe between the two towns. The property is located just one block off the Root River State Bicycle Trail and about 3 blocks from the World Famous Pie Shop.
This 100+ year old house has been moved, from its original location across from the pie shop, and is now overlooking Gator Greens Mini Golf. The house has been gutted to the studs and totally redone. Great location for the cycling enthusiasts of all ages. Whalan is located just 4 miles from Lanesboro, and 8 miles from Peterson. It is some of the flattest parts of the trail, offering great views of the bluffs as well as the river.
Absolutely no ATVs on property. Dogs are allowed, however we do ask that you clip your pets nails as the hardwood floors have been resurfaced in March 2022. Dogs are an additional cost per night ask for details.

This is our 2nd stay at Cyclin-up Inn and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. We will be back next year!

The house was fine but nothing special. We did not know that the second bathroom and a bedroom were in the basement. Two more bedrooms were upstairs, but no upstairs bathroom. There was minimal silver ware and no glasses that seemed usable. We bought glasses to use. The Coffee pot did not work. We notified the owner on the 2nd day and she brought her coffee pot to the house while we were out biking.
We were there to bike mostly so we made it work. The location was as described up on a hill. The house was walking distance to the small town where one store was open during our 5 day stay. It looked like a nice bakery across the street from the trail, but this time of year, the owner is only open on Saturday.
Lots of steps and they were dusty. There was a cobweb in the basement bathroom. The water barely trickled out of the shower head. The basement bedroom did have windows, so that helped but it was 10 degrees cooler in the lower level. It was a quiet house at night. A park is right next to the house if you have children. The house has an interesting history of how it was brought to this location and installed on the hill. It was very adequate for a few days for the two of us.
