Pleasant, but can be better.

The hotel offers enough confort. Clean rooms, decent facilities overall.

The hallway at the first floor smelled strongly like sewage. There wasn’t any light on the stairs (pitch dark), the switches didn’t work.

Very good for the price - i would return to stay there again.

Location was perfect in the middle of the center,so was able to see the happenings and actions and near very good eating spots. The staff was so friendly and helpful.

I do not think I will ever stay at this hotel again when in Herentals next time.

The location of the hotel is in the very centre of a beautiful town of Herentals and breakfasts were really very good provided at the nearby hotel of Carmel.

I want to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Hotel de Zalm from March 17 to March 21. While I had hoped for a restful and pleasant experience, my stay was significantly disrupted by ongoing construction work occurring next door, which the staff failed to adequately address or disclose prior to my arrival. Throughout my stay, I was subjected to incessant noise from banging, drilling, and other construction activities starting as early as 6:00 a.m. each day. This made it impossible to rest or enjoy the peace and quiet one expects from a hotel. To compound the issue, the construction workers were also playing loud music, further amplifying the disturbance. As a paying guest, I find it unacceptable that the hotel did not take proactive steps to mitigate the impact of this foreseeable disruption or at least inform me of the situation in advance so I could make an informed decision about my booking. This experience has left me deeply disappointed, and I am unlikely to recommend Hotel de Zalm to others based on this stay.

You don't get everything you're promised.

The location in the centre of Herentals is superb. The double basins in the bathroom were nice.

1. Wifi was promised. On arrival, we spent about 40 minutes trying to follow the instructions left in the room to set it up. Unsuccessfully. We asked the receptionist/barmaid, who told us that what we had been trying was wrong, and gave us a different username and password. These worked in the bar. We never had working wifi in our room. 2. We had to ask twice to get the battery changed in the safe, so that it would work. 3. The promised balcony was in fact a fire escape overlooking a building site. 4. The pillows were stuffed with foam crumbs, and very, very uncomfortable 5. We also slept poorly because the room was over-hot. Even leaving the fan on all night didn't help enough. 6. We weren't aware that we would have to walk to another building for breakfast. Decaf coffee was not available. 7. Only one single and one double power socket, neither near the bed. One was occupied by the fan. Lighting was dim. Apparently the owners had acquired the new hotel where we had to go for breakfast. It was our impression that they were so taken up by the new hotel, that they'd lost interest in de Zalm. This is a great shame, as it was about our 4th visit over a number of years, and the first time we've been disappointed.

All was decent, but clearly dated. The room was clean but worn from years of use. There was a huge renovation going on at the hotel, which would've been good to know before. I also feel that the price for the room should be lowered because of this. There was wifi but I often lost the signal. And one of the two flush options on the tiolet was broken. Stay was fine, though I feel the room was too expensive for what it was.

The staff very quickly took the time to get to know us especially George who we found most helpful, and a very nice and helpful member of your staff. Breakfast was sufficient for any persons taste and was delighted with the early packed breakfast which as it turned out fitted our requirements perfectly in driving a long journey. Thank you very much.

My friend and i both agreed we had one complaint, and that was really out of the Hotels power. Our neighbours were very noisy and loud. Perhaps we could have requested to ask for them to reduce the noise but thought it may cause some aggression (due to their excess of drinking) and decided to put up with it until it slowly died down, which in hindsight was not that long.
