The only issue we had was parking. There was maintenance going on with the building and landscaping so they kept blocking off multiple parking areas each day that you had to navigate. If you ignore the parking issues, the unit was a very nice unit.

The unit was pleasant, clean (no bugs!), and well stocked with a nice view of the ocean from the lanai. We appreciated the beach items (chairs, snorkeling gear) that were provided. The complex is also very pleasant, with multiple well-maintained pools and a nice cabana area. Communication from Kona Coast was great! The only negative was we both found the bed to be rather uncomfortable and had difficulty sleeping while we were there, resulting in some rather tired days. It seems like the mattress might be in need of an upgrade.

Love the location, just about 10 mins from Kona town and diving and all that. Perfect. The complex is very beautiful too. Nice pools, gardens and sunsets! The condo itself was just ok. The kitchen was nice and well appointed, and the lanai was also very nice. Good chairs and sun shades. It's the sunny side of the complex during the day, but you can't see the sunset from the lanai bc it goes down too far north (at least when we were there). The bad: The shower was ridiculously small. Uncomfortable. I scraped my back on the sharp hot/cold water knobs. And the shower floor needed a scrub. The bed was also not very comfortable. A $100 mattress topper would go a long way. Also, they had cable but no cable remote, so you don't get a guide, and you have to flip through the channels using the TV remote which doesn't work very well (we tried changing the batteries but no help) so you have to press the button 3-5 times to get it to register anything. So that was dumb, but the DVD/blu-ray player worked great. Final thing was the cockroaches, which I know you can't avoid in Hawaii, but there were all different sizes, including babies. That means infestation. I told the manager and they said it's the building's responsibility. I would think as a vacation rental manager, you'd call in a guy in between the building's pest control if needed, but that's just me. We put our food away every night and emptied the trash but it did not help. The roaches didn't relegate themselves to the kitchen and bathroom either, they were in our bags and we even had one in the rental car when we left! In retrospect, this condo was not cheap, so for a few dollars more, we should have gotten a little nicer place.
