Area was delightful Yummy restaurants and ice cream shoppe

At 81 the steps were a big problem… No brochures about the area

Easy to find and entrance code was provided in a timely manner. The bed was very comfortable. Quiet neighborhood. Within walking distance to the Main Street which had a lot of antique shops and dining options. Large kitchen which had a refrigerator and freezer for storing our ice packs.

Very difficult to operate TV and get local channels. Finally selected a TV show but halfway through the show we lost the signal. From our assigned parking spot there was a staircase which was fairly steep and narrow to reach first floor where shared kitchen was located. Oversized bush at entrance of street where we turned to find our parking space which definitely needs trimming. Didn't use the shower because it was so complicated to figure out all the controls. Control on one of the toilets also very complicated (it did everything) but managed to figure out how to use it in a normal manner. Overall, this place was just too complicated and stressful for us.

Private , rather than shared, would have put Hallowell Rooming House over the top.

The location was good. The owner was very responsive and her communication was great.

She said that you have to stay at least two nights to borrow the bicycle. She had little instruction signs and caution signs on EVERYTHING in the room, so you don’t feel trusted, like you’re a little kid or something. The room was tiny, but cluttered with too much stuff.
