Rejuvenate and reconnect with family and friends at our Historic, rustic family lake retreat. Perfect for R & R or lake activities on constant level Lake Austin. 100 feet of lakefront and a gently sloping grass lawn with 50 year old pecan trees planted by our grandfather, dock for your ski/fishing boat with public ramp 1 block away , use our kayaks and life jackets to explore wildlife preserve (Balcones Canyonlands Preserve) across the lake. Plenty of room for multi family get togethers. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for that Holiday meal preparation and clean up is easy with the dishwasher!

There's plenty of outdoor space, grill and cast iron smoker for family cookouts, boat dock, kayaks, horseshoe pit and large patio seating with Firepit!! Inside there is a wonderful fireplace with plenty of firewood included. Lake Austin Spa Resort is within walking distance, too!

The only thing we ask is that noise be kept low after 10pm.. We love our neighbors and want them to love you too!!

If you love Lake Austin like we do then you're willing to overlook a lot for location, location, location. :) The house itself is super dated and not for someone who needs the newest and best.. but if you want prime location then that's what you're paying for. The house manager was friendly and helpful with the couple of questions I had and the neighbors were very sweet.. honestly it had everything we needed and even more (cornhole, floats, blenders, spices, etc..)

As advertised, the land and view are beautifully serene. The lawn, shaded by tall pecan trees, gently slopes down to the lake, with the view looking across to the Balconies Canyonland Preserve. The shade and the breeze (and the water!) make for a very comfortable setting even in the 100 degree heat of the Austin summer. The house itself, however, is more of a camp than a retreat. "Rustic" in this case means unkept. It does not appear to have been upgraded since the 80's with respect to infrastructure (lighting, electrical, a/c, windows, weatherproofing), as well as furniture, beds, and kitchen. The place also struggles with keeping clean. Cobwebs, dust, and insects were a constant. The driveway is need of repair at the street...my car hit bottom a couple of times. That being said, we've stayed here the past two years for extended stays. We overlooked the subpar housing issues because we wanted easy access to the lake and a relaxing, inexpensive escape for our family. So, if that's your goal, this is definitely the place. If you want luxury, Austin Day Spa is down the street.

First time visiting my son and his family in over a year, we booked this property for a much needed getaway. House is older, cozy and furnished like a family vacation house, not fancy but comfortable. The setting is spectacular, gazing out across Lake Austin to beautiful unspoiled forest. The boys enjoyed picking up pecans from the ground, kayaking, fishing (no fish were caught), making smores in the firepit and playing games. A wonderful respite!

This house is a great place to bring your family for a summer vacation... We were able to tie up our boat and jet skis overnight. There’s a neighborhood boat ramp just a couple football fields away and it only took about 20 minutes to get to ski shores. Water was glassy in the morning and the view from the house is awesome. We will definitely be back!

A wonderful and special place to create sweet memories! The house was extremely clean! The yard was awesome to enjoy hanging out on Lake Austin. My family and our dogs LOVED it!!! Could not beat it ! Truly, a very special place! We would definitely love to return!!!

This is our fourth time renting this house and we love it. The yard and the trees are wonderful, which is where we spend most of our time. Our only suggestion would be to pave the road all the way to the house, the sand right by the entry door is pretty messy.

Awesome land and lake access. Our group enjoyed kayaking and yard games provided by the owner. The kayaks had small leaks but we covered them with duct tape and they worked great. The interior of the house felt more like a camp and could use some new finishes, but it is spacious and has plenty of beds. Overall, we had a nice time and enjoyed our stay.

My grand children really enjoyed swimming in the lake and playing on the 'floating' island. We also enjoyed the kayaks and hammock. Everything at the house was just as you said it would be and we felt right at home; it was very comfortable and met our needs completely. It was a great getaway; even though it rained some, we still had a great time. We will be returning next year. Thanks for sharing this little piece of heaven with us!

We spent 3 nights June, 2017. We came for a family reunion with ages 2 to 80+. Just a couple of tiny steps so everyone could get to downstairs bathroom, bedrooms, living areas and the shore with little trouble. Teenagers spent hours fishing, kayaking, swimming, hitting golf balls and floating on the water mat. House is very basic but just fine for us. We did encounter a large snake in screened in porch, but we had left door open.

We have a large group and this property worked out amazing for us. The rooms are large and very comfortable. Each room has a window unit that cools the house very well. The sun porch is a wonderful place to eat, play games and enjoy the beautiful view. Our group enjoyed the kayaks and the yard and all the games that were made available for us. I would definitely recommend this property and plan on renting it again!

My only negative comment would be that the dirt driveway isn't noticeable on the HomeAway page; we had terrible rain a couple of days and it made things quite messy. Owner VERY responsive though and certainly always appreciate great communication.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. The view is fantastic, the house sleeps 10+, and there is a boat dock to tie your boat up to. Not to mention the actual boat ramp is a 1 minute drive from the house. They even provided us with a huge bucket of golf balls, golf clubs, and a mat to hit into the lake. There are restaurants, grocery stores, and bars near the house as well. The owners provided great customer service, and the house was very clean and maintained very well. Could not have asked for a better time. Highly recommend this to all my friends and relatives.

This house was perfect for our situation. We went on a bachelor party with 12 friends and the house had very effective air conditioning to withstand the 97 degree heat. They provided us disposable golf balls to hit in the lake. The floating tanning deck couldn't be any cooler. The house is much larger than the pictures make it seem. If you need an affordable river house to sleep a large party, this is it! Will stay there again if we visit Austin in the future.

We just got back yesterday, and none of us could think of anything we would change. The floating dock was wonderful, for adults and kids. It's an older home, but I liked that aspect. It just made us that more comfortable being there. The yard is beautiful with lots of shade trees. It did rain a little, so the driveway was a little slippery at the bottom (not paved). This might turn into an annual event for our family.

My husband and I brought 9 teenage kids and a dog for an amazing riverside vacation. The house has every amenity, and is built so solidly that it was quiet in our room while the kids stayed up and played games and enjoyed themselves. We commandeered the largest downstairs bedroom, even though it has many beds, and gave the kids the other 3. Plenty of space for all. The manager, Ann, was helpful and available through the whole process. Be aware of the picky neighbor...they really do watch to see that you're not ever on their property. No problem, though, because there is plenty to do and plenty of room. Excellent vacation. We would love to do it all again.

Reserved this location for the proximity to the water, size of the house, and the amount of grass space in the back yard. This weekend happened to be my 40th BDay weekend too! The house is VERY spacious. The pictures don't show how much room there is. We had 15 adults and everyone slept great and room to move around inside. Even with the hot temperatures outside, the AC inside was more than adequate to keep everyone cool. I would recommend future guests to plan on bringing inflatables for the water. Things that would provide entertainment on the water. If I'm ever in the Austin area again for a long weekend, I would stay at this house again. Thank you!
