About this lodge
Welcome to #1 The Lodge at Kicking Horse Kabins, where we believe you will find the perfect place to stay in Golden.
Perfect for 2-8 guests our lodge is beautifully finished, with the thought of your comfort uppermost in our minds.
Private hot tub, huge garden, fully fitted kitchen (including dishwasher), three bedrooms with a king bed in each room, two bathrooms and a comfortable lounge set around a fireplace and Satellite TV. Comfort and amenities galore.
Our displayed pricing is based on 6 guests however, if you are a smaller group, the following may apply:
- A GROUP OF 4, dependent on date of stay, we have reduced rates for the use of just two rooms. Please enquire for more information.
A GROUP OF 8 - we can accommodate up to 8 guests, with the additional two guests making use of the futon(s) in the main area on the ground floor. Additional guest fee would apply, and we would supply all the linens, towels etc to ensure that all members of your group have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

PET FEE: We have a base $40 for the pet fee, for the first night of stay (or for one night stays). For multiple dogs (max 2 dogs) or multiple night stays, the remainder nights on the pet fees are calculated at $30 per dog per night, before tax. We have a maximum of 2 dogs in residence. Our pet policy does apply and full details are available, but most importantly pets must be kept leashed/under control when in the main garden area, and all deposits are cleaned up promptly and not left to day of departure. Dogs are not permitted on the furniture or beds at any time. The pet fee balance, if applicable can be paid during your stay. Please do let us know if you have any questions on this.
If your party size is over 6, whilst we accept groups of 8 to stay in The Lodge, we do also have a smaller property, #2 The Kabin at Kicking Horse Kabins, and this is a perfect property for 2-4 guests. The Kabin is listed on VRBO and can be found on a search Listing number is 1505620.
Kicking Horse Kabins is an established and registered organization and is a member of Tourism Golden.

The cabin has a very nice layout and it worked well for our family. The power went out when we were there and the hosts were over right away letting us know what was going on and they go a generator up and running really quickly. The power outage didn't last very long, but it was still really great that they had everything hooked up for us in no time.

The cabin was exactly as advertised. It was neat & clean & in good working condition. We enjoyed meeting our host “Karen” who assisted us with locating local activities of interest. Hot tub was great, bed was quite comfortable & kitchen was well stocked. I would highly recommend Kicking horse cabins. It was wonderful to stay in Golden instead of the being in the over crowded tourist town in Banff. The peace & quiet was wonderful with stunning scenery.

Very nice place to start! The hosts are wonderful. The view of the mountains from the hot tub was beautiful. The whole property was beautiful!

The location to some of the parks was good. The kitchen had to be cleaned by me when we got there. Sticky messes in the fridge, crumbs on counters and tables. We were sad to discover there was no toaster. The morning we were trying to pack up, get some breakfast, and leave, a worker showed up to work in the house. We felt very uncomfortable and rushed. The house was large and had plenty of room. The yard was set up for nice picnics and outdoor sitting. Plenty of blankets and towels for the hot tub.
