About this house rental
This is a great base camp for an adventure! This charming home has plenty of room to house all your family and friends together with all the amenities you'll need for a fun stay. A new custom kitchen was unveiled in 2023 with granite countertops, a wine fridge, a warming drawer, and a peninsula for entertaining. Our yard backs right up to your own beach on the bank of the Colorado River - enjoy a riverside Pergola with a picnic table, firepit and charcoal grill. We've just upgraded the outdoor kitchen on the deck adjacent to the orchard (36" flattop grill, BBQ grill and seating for 8). In addition, during the late summer months, canoes and kayaks are available for use (waiver required).
You'll love the infinity-overlooking yard - play "rogue" lawn bocce ball, sit under the wisteria and enjoy a picnic, enjoy coffee or wine on the overlook, drop a line in the water or just stargaze.
We have just planted a 65 tree, peach orchard with four different types of peaches so (when in season) guests can harvest and take home a box of peaches.
ALL OF THIS... is included in your stay!
We also believe that a short-term rental should be well-appointed. In addition to our fleet of 10 bicycles for your use, we also provide spices, oil, vinegar, coffee, creamer, shampoo, lotion, hairdryers, an iron and ironing board, double laundry, board games, high-speed Internet, Netflix and other streaming services in the home theater (complete with seating for 8 and a popcorn machine and surround sound!). You'll also find a fun surprise for you when you first enter. If this isn't enough...we need to talk! LOL...
The Palisade River House also gives you quick access to an abundance of Attractions and Events in Colorado's Wine and Peach Country - we are "ON" the Fruit and Wine Trail, just a few blocks from The Rim Trail, The Palisade Plunge, and moments away on bike or foot from the darling downtown Palisade.
The house has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, but the Town of Palisade only recognizes the three upstairs bedrooms and the two upstairs bathrooms. We honor the Town's strict limit of 8-overnight guests.

The River House has neighbors on each side. Our guests must respect our neighbors privacy by remaining on our property, and respecting our quiet hours of 10:00 pm - 8:00 am. If you have a riverside campfire (WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE THIS) please have it dead out by 10 p.m. We do not allow large parties or events at the house. Please call Bill or Kristin if you have any questions regarding this.

The spaces indoors and out are wonderful. We had a great girl's weekend here, and particularly loved the movie room (and popcorn machine) and how the living room couches are set up for conversation. It was so comfortable to lounge and chat!The kitchen was really well stocked, with every appliance you can imagine. The bedrooms were all a good size and comfortable, and it was nice that each of us had our own (there are 5). The outdoor spaces are beautiful and relaxing. We really loved the peach orchard and the picnic table there, with lights in the nearby peach trees, that became our favorite place to sit and chat as it got dark. Also enjoyed the ledge with Adirondack chairs overlooking the river and views (two of us got stung by wasps there, tho!There were visible wasp nests outside one of the lower level bedroom windows. We let the hosts know and they said they will be taking care of it). The space by the river was so peaceful, with more Adirondack chairs (that needed a good wiping down because of cobwebs). There was no beach, but maybe because the river levels are so low this year. Still amazing views!It's close enough to downtown to walk (which is what we did most) or ride the bikes. The bikes have been well used, so it took a bit to find a few that would work for us (some of the seat adjustor levers on the bikes are broken off, so you have to find one with a height that works. And there's no helmets, just fyi!).We loved our stay here and hope to come back soon!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Palisade River house over the weekend! The house is cozy and clean. The location is fantastic....both for it's proximity to the river and easy access into town. We enjoyed using the cruiser bikes (bring a pump as we had to inflate some tires) and loved the basement movie room! Such a fun and creative way to use that space! Would love to return to this gem!

We had a great weekend at the house on the river!! There was a nice surprise when we walked in the door!! The house is very close to downtown and was a short bike ride to get coffee. We did some cooking at the house and the kitchen had everything we needed. We played corn hole in the peach orchard and used the blue tooth speakers for music. The downstairs movie theater is very nice, if you have time to watch a movie. The chairs are very comfortable. We were even able to charge a car at the house. Everything we needed was provided. Our hosts responded very quickly with answers to our questions and made some suggestions for some things we might enjoy. We plan to be back next time we are in Palisade!!
