We received a very warm welcome at Merinjer Guest house despite arriving earlier than the check in time. Staff & owner could not do enough for us. It felt like home away from home. Definitely would recommend.
It would help to have a small fridge in the rooms.

Placed inside a lush and green compound, Merinja is a cosy hideaway with great service and a super helpful and attentive host. Organising a taxi ride or visit of a flower farm was done in a few minutes. The chef is a local celebrity on TV cooking shows. Some of the rooms have high ceilings with wooden plates, inviting balconies, furniture made by a local artisan, very solid beds.
That I didn't have time to stay longer in Naivasha and explore the natural beauty of the lake.

Staying at Merinja was like staying in a Kenyan home's loving embrace. What they offer there is not only comfort but an entire cultural experience. Set very close to the Lake Naivasha, Merinja is a great house tucked away in well manicured gardens, big rooms, plush beds, well lit and amazing water pressure. Patrick is such a welcoming and wonderful host who is happy to share details and help out in any way possible. You have a chef who is a tv personality and a bright cherry concierge who helps out with everything. For me this felt like a boutique hotel experience. This is for people who love to immerse themselves in culture and really try to understand a place. Naivasha has sooo much to do, you can do a lake cruise to watch the animals, you can visit a flower farm, the owner is happy to arrange. There are numerous restaurants and resorts that you can visit. Most importantly Merinja offers a cultural programme, where you can visit a local market, learn to cook local food, sing, dance and all sorts. I booked one night as a stopover on my journey to the Mara and I majorly regretted not spending more time. The price offered such value for money. Dinner was a huge local spread, there was local goat, local chicken, omg everything was so fresh and delicious. I really rate this place highly and cannot wait to revisit. There are communal tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer and an iron and ironing board and they also kindly stored stuff for us in their fridge. Patrick even offered accomodation to my driver. He was very communicative on whatsapp and payment was easy. You guys also need to try Chef Young's mandazi, it is pretty epic. Thanks to Patrick and the entire team for an amazing stay, we cannot wait to visit again..
Everything was superb

Merinja Guest House was simply the best hotel or guest house in which I stayed in Kenya. The building itself was discretely hidden behind high walls and a delight to behold - a unique and imaginative design as were the bed-rooms. Custom-designed furniture throughout. My bedroom was attractively furnished with a high celling and a well designed mosquito net. The owner and host who was extremely knowledgeable on the local area was also very attentive and arranged for an early breakfast. The chef was also great. 10 out of 10 on all counts.
Nothing.
