Villa Thea Antonis

We were so impressed with everything about our stay. This villa is everything we imagined it to be and more. They have thought of everything. The pool was an added bonus and the reason we booked and well needed after shopping etc in the heat. The views took our breath away and waking up opening your windows to the view was unreal. The family are amazing and can’t do enough for you. Book it and you wont be disappointed. The location is superb!!! Can’t wait to go back.

Location was perfect, quiet but very near the amenities of the town. The views were great. The Villa was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The hosts were very helpful, always available if we needed them. The private pool was the highlight.

Loved the location, the beautiful pool, the view from the balcony. Ten minute walk into town. Perfect stay in central Gaios with the luxury of your own pool.

A very spacious villa with three bedrooms with an air conditioner, desk and a wardrobe in each, two sizeable bathrooms, and the basics (towels, washing machine (bring your own laundry capsules), ironing, hair dryer etc) are provided. The terrace and balcony both have beautiful sea views, master bedroom is looking out to the same views. The pool is clean. Gorgeous little town of Gaios is just a 6 minute walk away with all the shops and restaurants and its own little port. Please be mindful this is a different port to the one that the Ferri from the mainland comes in, I can see some people got caught out. It isn’t easily walkable from the main port, contrary to what is showing on Booking.

As others mentioned here, this villa is shared with the owners of the house. We read the reviews that said that there is no interference, which is true, but to an extent. No one’s mentioned that the windows of the owners downstairs flat look *directly* into the pool area, and the shortcut route to town also leads you via the owners flat. The owners are lovely and friendly, but it still makes the whole experience not very private. We did have a feeling of being watched, as the teenage boy kept appearing at random moments. Maybe it would be a plus if you have little children, there is someone watching out for your safety at all times. Examples: when we had our car hire person come in to swap cars (this was outside the villa), the owners appeared immediately asking whether we had a visitor (which wasn’t the case). Or when I was exploring the stairs to the side of the house leading to the roof making sure that the area was safe for our children, and as the gate made a squeaky noise, the owner again appeared very quickly, asking ‘who open the little gate? what are you doing up there, it’s not safe!’ and it felt quite awkward, as I was wearing just my swimming suit and did not expect anyone coming in and asking what I was doing around the premises that I rented out… Overall it felt like the villa is there to be enjoyed, but as little as possible. It’s all in the details. The kitchen equipment lacked some basic items, we aren’t talking luxury: only one tiny chopping board, two very small plastic salad bowls, blunt knives (we had to ask for a knife sharpener which in all fairness was very quickly accommodated), no garlic press etc. Our family loves cooking and eating at home together even on holidays so when we book villas every year we check that there is an outdoor kitchen also. But in this villa we only had a couple of dinners in the house and kept the cooking to a minimum unfortunately. Also there is no dishwasher.
