Welcome to Laguna Gecko Villa! A 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom luxury waterfront villa with private chef included.
Nestled in the exclusive, gated community of Placencia Residences on the serene western shore of the Placencia Lagoon, this stunning 3-story custom waterfront estate offers something genuinely different: dramatic panoramic views of the Maya Mountains and the shimmering lagoon from every level, world-class fishing and kayaking right from your backyard, 24-hour gated security for total peace of mind, and direct access to the renowned Placencia Resort just across the street. Guests staying at the laguna Gecko have access to Placencia Resort's amenities including its beach, pools, and restaurants. The lagoon here is as spectacular as any beach, teeming with Snook, Snapper, and other prized game fish, and the mangrove-filled waterways are a kayaker's dream. And when you want sand between your toes, the beach is just a short walk or golf cart ride away.
Entering on the second floor, you're welcomed into a huge open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area anchored by a large kitchen island breakfast bar, modern appliances, and a dining table seating up to 16. Sliding glass doors open the entire living space onto a large covered outdoor patio and open dining area overlooking the lagoon and Maya Mountains — the ideal stage for spectacular Belizean sunsets every single evening. A full bathroom is also located on this level for convenience.
Head downstairs to the ground floor where two large king bedrooms each enjoy private en-suite bathrooms and access to a covered patio overlooking the pool and lagoon. The large freshwater pool with covered palapa is the social hub of the outdoor space — perfect for afternoon swims while taking in the mountain views. Up to the third floor, the entire level is devoted to the grand master suite — a king bedroom with a private bathroom featuring an oversized jetted tub and shower, plus an expansive open patio with sweeping views of both the lagoon and the Maya Mountains. A fourth bedroom on this level features two twin beds with two twin trundles, ideal for children or additional guests.
Laguna Gecko Villa is a certified Gold Standard Property by the Belize Tourism Board and managed by Gecko Vacation Rentals.
**CHEF SERVICE**
Your stay includes complimentary private chef service for stays of 4 nights or more — one full chef day for every two nights stayed. Each chef day includes 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) prepared fresh for your group. For example: a 6-night stay includes 3 chef days; an 8-night stay includes 4 chef days. You will only need to reimburse the chef directly for the cost of groceries. Nothing is marked up, and the chef will provide you with an invoice, payment instructions, and copies of all receipts. Food costs typically run $45–$50 per person per day based on the preset menu. Need the chef more often? Additional chef days can be added for $125 per day.
Grocery stocking service is also included with your stay. There is a provisions list of basic groceries, snack items and beverages you can fill out if you wish to have those items stocked at the house when you arrive. The chef will purchase your groceries, and you only reimburse the items bought.

All international flights arrive and depart through Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City. From there, you have three options for getting to Placencia. After confirming your reservation, your Gecko concierge will reach out to help coordinate your preferred transfer.
Option 1 — Flying: A 30-minute domestic flight from BZE to the Placencia airstrip costs $299 USD round trip per person. Your concierge will also arrange pick-up from the Placencia airstrip directly to the property. Our concierge will work with you to book the local flights as soon as you have your international flights ready.
Option 2 — Private Shuttle: A comfortable, direct shuttle from BZE to the property takes just over 2 hours on a fully paved road. Cost is $650 USD round trip (tax included) for up to 3 passengers, plus $60 per additional person round trip (maximum 12 passengers). Our concierge will work with you to book the shuttle van as soon as you have your international flights ready.
Option 3 — Self-Drive: Prefer to explore at your own pace? Rent a car from the agency of your choice at BZE and drive yourself to the property. Be sure to secure your rental online prior to your arrival. Your concierge will provide detailed directions upon booking.

We loved this place for not only its location but for all the amenities that came along with it. The house, pool, golf cart, kayaks and access to the resort kept everyone entertained.
The views were amazing and having an age range from under a year to 75 we had enough room to keep everyone separated when needed.
The staff were wonderful and we enjoyed them very much.

Villa Laguna Gecko was the perfect escape! Beautiful, clean, and spacious with a private pool and amazing lagoon views. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we loved the peaceful location—just a quick golf cart ride to Placencia Village. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax in luxury!

We just completed our stay with Gecko at the Laguna Gecko Villa. All of the staff and service was top notch and made our stay simple and easy. Definitely looking forward to a return trip to Placencia!

The staff was great. Appreciate the housekeeper and the chef. Both did an excellent job. The kitchen cabinets were dirty looking and some of the cabinet doors were falling off the hinges. Took the top of the toilet tank off one of the bathroom because the toilet was continuously running and there was black mold. Overall the experience was great and my family had a great time.
