The location of the property is great, however, the property is extremely dated and would benefit greatly from new linens and bedding. The bedding in 2 of the bedrooms had not been washed and had good chunks and mucus crusted spots from previous tenants. The freezer had something growing inside, and the first bathroom had mold and dirty shower lining. Though the cleanliness was not up to standard, the property host, was responsive to our concerns.

We really wanted to like this house because of its great location to where our daughter is at UC Davis and its open floor plan but we won’t be renting again. The house is very dated and just the musty smell alone is enough for us not to go back. I purchased several candles but it didn’t do the trick. Pros- good location, open floor plan, stocked kitchen and nice backyard. Cons- musty smell, felt like staying in an older persons home that hasn’t cleaned out anything in a long time, very old bed spread and curtains, adult folding bedside commode sitting out right by the master shower (we finally had to move it in the closet), some door handles that were so old barely worked and a used not clean kids training potty in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. We arrived to the BBQ grill cover torn and barely on the grill that was disgustingly dirty on the outside and inside. We sent pictures to Valerie right away so she knew we arrived to it that way and she was very apologetic when she responded. She sent us a 4 page list of rules/requests a few days before our stay which seemed excessive. Overall we really wanted to like the place because we visit our daughter every 4-6 weeks but after we left we all agreed that the place wasn’t for us.

We enjoyed our stay. There wasn't a lot of time we stayed at our vrbo but the wide open floor plan was enjoyable. If there was any thing we did not care for is was only having 4 rolls of toilet paper for 5 days. The beds were comfortable and all the instructions were eastly to read. We all enjoyed staying there. The large, open concept home is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It is close to shopping, restaurants, and the highway, and was a great location for visiting family in Woodland. The house was clean, has lots of room, a fully stocked kitchen, and the furniture is comfortable, but the furniture and decor are quite dated. The back yard is quite nice, and furnished with a table and chairs and a grill. We found the bed in the master to be fairly comfortable, but the linens were quite worn, and the pillows were flat and did not smell clean. For us, the house was a mostly positive experience.

Beautiful large house, very well located. Nice backyard and everything you need to enjoy life with your family. Perfect neighborhood - beautiful, quiet and with many nature trails to explore. Close (by bike or car) to shops and the highway. The host's help and guidance is also greatly appreciated. We are going to miss the two months we spent here with our family!

House was all on one floor which was great for my mother who is 80 with multiple knee surgeries. I rented the house for the purpose of moving my kids back to UC Davis and that was accomplished. There was a giant fig tree in the front of the house that had some wonderful ripe fruit on it. We were only there for 2 nights so a short stay. The beds are very uncomfortable so plan on sleeping on the couch. The towels are worn and there aren’t any extras. If you spill anything, you will have to use whatever you can find. There a musty scent to everything…. My family called it mildew so bring your own towels. It’s a great walking neighborhood. Lots of easy trails. That’s why I gave it 3 stars…. Location.

The house was nice and spacious with lots of natural light. Beautiful landscaping and plenty of parking. Neighborhood was quiet. The master suite was nice but the guest beds were super old and uncomfortable (could feel the coils) and the guest bath was a little dingy.

First impression: Spotlessly clean! Which is one of the most important things to us. On the downside is the lack of comfort in the beds (hard, uncomfortable mattresses), bedding (hard, flat pillows) with bargain basement sheets, etc., The whole house is “adequate” as far as furnishings and kitchen ware. But it looks and feels as though there was no “love” or care put into furnishings to make the house feel like a “home”. All furnishings looked and felt like the cheapest possible. Just enough to furnish the house without thought as to the comfort of a guest. Five stars because “you get what you pay for” and I balanced my rating against the price for a good hotel room, (comparable price), BUT this house gave us 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, a kitchen and garage. The space made up for the furnishings. The biggest thing this house is lacking is the sense of security and safety. There’s a definite need for outside lighting at the long walkway to the front door. There are 2 “cut aways” where someone could easily hide and at night it’s creepy walking up to the barely lit front door. Easy solution is to add lightbulbs to the existing fixtures. Perhaps the maintenance person doesn’t test the bulbs? The other easy fix is to change out the sheer curtains at the large front window looking into the living room from the front door. That way privacy can easily be had by closing non-sheer window coverings. The lack of paper products was annoying (no paper towels or napkins, 1 roll of paper thin TP in each bathroom), but we realized Davis is “green”. As a guest it’s still annoying not to have at least 1 roll of paper towels, waxed paper, foil, Saran, etc. Part of the reason behind choosing a VRBO over a hotel is the “home away from home” comfort. Valerie sent a detailed multi-page intro beforehand which was very handy and much appreciated. She is also great at communicating quickly with every question or text that I sent. All in all this house is a great value in comparison to other properties in the vicinity.

My family stayed here while my daughter attended a gymnastics camp and we visited my son doing a research internship. The house and neighborhood was great. This property was great, 3 bedrooms with the master bedroom on the other side of the house. It was very easy to get into the home, communications with the owner was awesome. The property is 5 minutes from UC Davis. I highly recommend this property and will use this owner again whenever I am in the Davis Sacramento. Bty it is about 20 minutes from Sacramento.

The house is comfy and in a quiet neighborhood, convenient for all the places we had to get to in Davis and beyond. It's a bit like staying at Granny's house - there are lots of florals, the dining room has a protective tablecloth on it, and everything is a little bit shopworn, but it's comfortable and has all the amenities of a home away from home. The patio was delightful - nice shade in the afternoon, spacious and private - we loved that! Valerie was very helpful with the details and fast to communicate when we were in touch with her. All in all, a pleasant stay.

Nice quiet area. The property had all the basics and generic amenities. Lots of cooking items that don't need to be purchased and you can leave yours behind if you wish to do so. Property management was very accommodating. However, one slight upgrade should be considered: a new twin mattress for room #1. Master bedroom and back bedroom mattresses were very comfy. All good.

This is the second time that we have stayed here and it was perfect for our needs. There is more than enough room to relax, a very well equipped kitchen, a beautiful backyard/patio, and a garage, in a quiet neighborhood. Also, it is close to walking paths, supermarket/restaurants, and not too far from UC Davis campus and downtown. We love staying here when we come to Davis. Finally, the host provides great info/instructions about the property and is very responsive.
