Andi was an excellent host. She left personalized welcome messages for us in the house and checked in with us often to ensure we were having the best possible experience. The house is filled with Andi's artwork and other eclectic furnishings, which gives the place a very cool vibe. It's a perfect location for a campus visit to CMU. Highly recommended!

We are originally from Pittsburgh and wanted to do a family trip to visit my nephew from the Westcoast, who is attending CMU along with attending a Steelers game. I was looking for a location that could accommodate four adults and two teenagers comfortably and was close to CMU and Pittsburgh/Stadium. I found this lovely and charming place on Forbes Avenue that had four bedrooms with lots of baths with a great backyard for entertaining. There was a gas firepit for evening gatherings and eating smores. There is also a hot tub for use. We could walk to CMU for a campus visit, which was very convenient. The teenagers had the rooms for themselves on the third floor with privacy and we had rooms on the second floor. The first floor contained a spacious living room with fireplace and lots of eclectic art. There was a large dining room and kitchen. Downstairs were a washer and dryer for our use. The hosts were very responsive to our needs and were very welcoming. Overall, this home fit our needs very well and was terrific.

My wife and her brother and I really enjoyed staying in this house. I'm a Pittsburgh native who now lives in North Carolina and comes back regularly to visit my brother. This house is the best location for that (he lives just a few minutes away). But it's great in other ways as well. It's extremely comfortable, and the property manager is extremely responsive (she lives next door) We had my brother and his wife for dinner and also went to a Pirates game and to the Andy Warhol museum (which is marvelous). We only had three people in a house that could hold 12, but we loved our stay. I highly recommend this property.

We enjoyed our stay at this house. It is nicely located not far from downtown and the convention center. We walked to the botanical gardens and Carnegie Mellon is close by. The back area with a hot tub was much appreciated after a long day of volleyball. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable.

Overall the property is in a good location. The rooms are small and kitchen and bathrooms are all dated. When we arrived, the cleaning crew was still there past our arranged check in time. We quickly realized that there was not central air nor units in most of the bedrooms. It was the end of May and very hot. The owner did arrange to have units installed but they were not completed until well into the second night of our stay (which was to be 5 nights in total) and after my son's Naval Commissioning ceremony. I contacted the owner prior to our departure to advise that we would check out a day early and she agreed to a one night refund -- I have this in writing. After several attempts over the past months to contact her with no response, I finally called VRBO for assistance today. The VRVO representative was very professional and helpful and contacted the owner immediately. After six months, she refused to honor the full refund, and only refunded a partial amount.

Stayed here with several friends as part of a mini reunion, and it really became the centerpiece of the trip. We were able to gather and hang out comfortably, with easy access to CMU and Oakland. The house itself is awesome and much bigger that expected, with nice space separation for the guests. Andi is an excellent host and extremely personable. She was very proactive in making sure we were comfortable and set up for the weekend. This property would be top of the list for our next visit - highly recommended!

We had such a wonderful family visit in this home! We were completely comfortable here, and felt very fortunate to be able to walk to the CMU campus only two blocks away to be present at our older son's milestone presentation. Even though we only needed two of the many bedrooms, it was well worth the price to have a whole house for our family of four. We were able to enjoy cooking together in the pleasant kitchen, having family meals at the large dining table surrounded by the mood-lifting, really fun artwork created by our host, and sitting outside on both the back deck and the front porch. I would have loved to remain for a much longer stay. As a person with severe allergies, travel can be a challenge and I was completely impressed by the level of cleanliness in this home. There were no fragrances, just fresh air and the absence of allergens. As you can see from the photos, this is an old, very well maintained house with character. The beds are comfortable, there are plenty of blankets, the kitchen is well stocked, and the neighborhood is fantastic. Our host was available to give us advice, and even loaned us some of her own baking dishes. She was so welcoming and eager to ensure that we had a perfect stay.

We recently stayed in this lovely home with our two kids (16 & 12). We were touring colleges for the weekend so it was very relaxing to return to the house after a long day of walking. We cooked several meals in the house and it had everything that we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the kids even had their own floor for privacy. We loved the artwork inside and the neighborhood. It is an easy walk to CMU and a 10 minute car ride to Pitt. We were greeted by Andi’s daughter upon our arrival to see if we needed anything. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the house to friends & family!

What a place....first of all, a superb location in Squirrel Hill, just up the road from the Carnegie Mellon campus and less than a mile to downtown Squirrel HIll with shops, grocery, great restaurants,etc. The house itself is huge, warm and friendly. Andi is an accomplished artist and her work adorns every wall. There are 5 bedrooms, all spacious-even the study with a futon is very comfortable. The living room welcomes family interaction and we spent most nights there just sitting and talking (we were in town for our oldest daughter's baby shower). If you get the chance and you need the room, stay here...it is well worth the price.

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at Andi's house. The interior is tastefully decorated with original artwork and midcentury modern furniture. Though it's part of a duplex, we never heard a peep from the next door neighbor. The location is minutes away from the Phipps Conservatory, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Pittsburgh. It's also fairly easy to drive back to from points downtown during the early rush hours. The neighborhood is tree-lined and peaceful, making it perfect for a restful weekend or a week-long vacation with family and friends. The attic was recently renovated for even more space for guests. The entire house seemed to be professionally maintained and nearly all appliances were in working order. (The gas stove had a faulty igniter which Andi already knew about and had a workaround for.) Highly recommended!

We came to Pittsburgh over the weekend to see the Pitt-Penn State football game and decided to book a house for our group. This house was the perfect place to accommodate everyone. It was in a lovely area of the city that was close to everything we wanted to do. The house is spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. We would love to stay here again when we return to Pittsburgh!

Let me begin by saying that thanks to owner Andi, our stay was fantastic! I made an error when trying to book this property and it ended up being rented to someone else. In a panic I contacted Andi who assured me that everything would be okay. Even though she had rented this property, she had another that she was in the process of getting ready to list. She said she would work extremely hard to get it all done by the time we arrived. Well, we arrived one week later and true to her word, she had the new beds set up, artwork hung, everything in it's place. The two-bedroom house was very cozy and inviting. Spotless from top to bottom and well appointed. The backyard was beautifully landscaped with a koi pond. A wonderful place to sit and have breakfast in the morning or a night cap in the evening. Andi also had a bottle of white wine chilling in the fridge when we arrived! We travelled with another couple and needed parking for two vehicles, so the driveway was appreciated. We had also asked for recommendations for restaurants downtown and were given a long list of wonderful places to choose from. I will finish by saying that Andi went above and beyond when it came to accommodating us and I would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting to stay in the Pittsburgh area.
